Upon initiating a data backfill for an auto triggered node, various data backfill instances are created based on the schedule type. These include both upcoming and already generated instances. You can manage these instances according to business requirements, which involves monitoring runtime logs and executing rerun operations.
Terminology
Instance to be generated: Future instances that are scheduled for data backfill execution. Periodically scheduled data backfill tasks create instances to be generated at 11 PM the day before the scheduled runtime. For more information, see view and manage instances to be generated.
Generated instance: Instances that result from immediate execution or from transitioning instances to be generated. For more information, see Overview of Data Backfill Instance Operation and Maintenance.
Data Backfill Instance Relationships
Data backfill operations lead to the creation of various instances, each with a distinct relationship to the operation:
Single immediate data backfill task: Generates an instance immediately, which is then scheduled for execution.
Single scheduled data backfill task: Creates an instance to be generated, followed by the generation and scheduling of a data backfill instance at the designated runtime.
Periodic scheduled data backfill task: An instance to be generated is created at 11 PM the day before the scheduled runtime, with a subsequent data backfill instance generated and scheduled for the designated runtime.
Manual data backfill task: An instance is generated on-demand and scheduled for immediate execution.
