Change rules are validation rules that leverage metadata derived from an object's fundamental properties, in conjunction with predefined or custom-coded logic conditions. Objects failing to comply with these rules are managed according to the specified change policy. This topic outlines the process for creating a change rule.
Permission description
Creation of new change rules is restricted to super administrators and system administrators.
Super administrators, system administrators, and change policy owners are authorized to edit and delete change rules.
Procedure
Navigate to the Dataphin home page and select Management Center > Specification Settings from the top menu bar.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Change Control > Change Rule.
On the Change Rule page, click +create Change Rule.

On the Create Change Rule page, set the parameters.
Enter the basic information.
Parameter
Description
Rule Name
Specify the rule name, which may include Chinese characters, uppercase and lowercase English letters, numbers, underscores (_), or hyphens (-) and must not exceed 30 characters.
Names may only include Chinese characters, upper and lower case English letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
They must be no longer than 30 characters.
Rule Description
Provide a concise description of the change rule, limited to 256 characters.
Service Scenario
The default option is Publish Control, which is not modifiable.
Rule Type
The default option is Global Rule, which is not modifiable.
Effective Object
Choose the effective object according to the business scenario.
Effective Stage
The default setting is prior to publishing.
Rule Operation
This field is optional.
Validation Failure Prompt
Enter a message that will be displayed when validation fails.
Define the rule logic.
You can opt for Expression Configuration or Customized:
Expression Configuration: Add custom rules or use system rules. For guidance on custom rule configuration, click Rule Number Configuration Guide.
Customized: For custom code rules, click Documentation.
Choose the Validation Logic for the rule.
Once configuration is finalized, click Submit.
Upon submission, the change rule is activated by default. If necessary, you can deactivate the rule.
