Data Transmission Service (DTS) provides the monitoring and alerting feature for data migration, data synchronization, and change tracking tasks. You can configure alert rules for important metrics in the DTS console to monitor DTS tasks in real time.

Prerequisites

A DTS task is configured. For more information, see Configure a data synchronization task or Configure a data migration task.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DTS console.
    Note You can also log on to the Data Management (DMS) console. In the top navigation bar, click DTS.
  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region in which your DTS instance resides.
    Note In the DMS console, you must first select a task type, and then select the region in which the DTS instance resides.
  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Data Synchronization, Data Migration, or Change Tracking.
    Note A data synchronization task is used in this example.
  4. On the Data Synchronization page, find the data synchronization task and choose More icon > Monitor Task.

  5. On the Monitor Task page, configure alert rules for the metrics of the task.
    Note
    • By default, all metrics are in the Disabled state.
    • If a metric is enabled, you can click Disable or Edit in the Actions column to disable the metric or modify the alert rule for the metric.
    • Configure the alert rule for the Synchronization Latency metric.
      1. Find the Synchronization Latency metric and click Enable in the Actions column.
      2. Set the threshold for triggering latency alerts and enter the mobile number of the alert contact. Synchronization latency
        Note To add multiple alert contacts, click Add Contact and enter mobile numbers. You can enter a maximum of five mobile numbers.
      3. Click OK.
    • Configure the alert rule for the Synchronization Status metric.
      Note The alert rule for the Synchronization Status metric is set to Synchronization Status = Error and cannot be modified.
      1. Find the Synchronization Status metric and click Enable in the Actions column.
      2. Enter the mobile number of the alert contact. Synchronization failed

      3. Click OK.
