Object Storage Service (OSS) is a secure, cost-effective, and highly reliable service that enables you to store, back up, and archive large amounts of data in the cloud. After data is stored in OSS, you can use Data Lake Analytics (DLA) to query and analyze data.

Quick BI is a next-generation business intelligence (BI) service platform in the cloud. Quick BI allows you to analyze large amounts of data online in real time and perform drag-and-drop operations. It also provides abundant visualization features. You can present the results of data query and analytics in reports. This provides an easy method to analyze and explore business data and generate reports.

This example describes how to use OSS, DLA, and Quick BI to store data, perform interactive search and analytics, and generate BI reports. This procedure is suitable for scenarios where log data and transaction records need to be queried and analyzed and reports need to be generated.

Before you perform the procedure, make sure that you have made the following preparations.

Note OSS, DLA, and Quick BI must be deployed in the same region. In this topic, the three services are deployed in the China (Hangzhou) region.

  1. Activate OSS.
  2. Create buckets.

Recommended directories in the OSS bucket: workshop_sh/trade and workshop_sh/user.

  3. Upload objects.

Download test data and upload the transaction records and user information to the workshop_sh/trade and workshop_sh/user directories, respectively.

  1. Activate DLA.
  2. Reset the database password.

Quick BI

Only Quick BI Pro and Quick BI Enterprise Standard can be added to DLA as data sources. For more information about the purchase and free trial of Quick BI, see Purchases, upgrades, downgrades, renewals, and overdue payments.
