Database Autonomy Service (DAS) Enterprise Edition V1 supports manual and auto-renewal to extend your subscription before it expires.
Renewal options
| Option | When to use |
|---|---|
| Manual renewal | Renew immediately or in batches when you need direct control over timing |
| Auto-renewal | Avoid service interruptions by automatically renewing before expiration |
| Change the auto-renewal cycle | Adjust the renewal duration after enabling auto-renewal |
| Disable auto-renewal | Switch back to manual renewal or stop renewing entirely |
Background
DAS Enterprise Edition V1 uses a combined billing model: a subscription fee for the service itself, plus a pay-as-you-go fee for SQL Explorer storage. Renewal only extends the subscription period. SQL Explorer storage is billed separately on a pay-as-you-go basis and does not require renewal. Make sure your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance to cover ongoing storage charges.
What happens when your subscription expires
If DAS Enterprise Edition V1 expires without renewal, the system automatically shuts it down and purges all related data, including SQL Explorer data and analytical data. For details, see Billing details.
Manual renewal

On the Manual tab, find the DAS instance you want to renew. Then renew it individually or in a batch:
Single renewal:
In the Actions column, click Renew for the target instance.
If the instance is on the Auto or Nonrenewal tab, select it and click Enable Manual Renewal at the bottom of the page, then click OK in the dialog box.
Select a subscription duration and click Buy Now to complete the payment.
Batch renewal:
Select the target instances and click Batch Renew.
Select a subscription duration and click Pay to complete the payment.
Auto-renewal
Before you enable auto-renewal
Auto-renewal charges your account 9 days before the subscription expires. Make sure your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance before that date.
If you manually renew the service before the automatic deduction date, the system performs the next auto-renewal before the new expiration date.
Auto-renewal takes effect the next day after you enable it. If your subscription expires the next day, manually renew it to prevent service interruptions.
Enable auto-renewal
You can enable auto-renewal at purchase or any time afterward.
At purchase
When purchasing DAS Enterprise Edition, select Auto-renewal on the purchase page.
The renewal duration matches your initial subscription duration. For example, if you purchase a 6-month subscription, each auto-renewal extends it by another 6 months.
After purchase
Log on to the Renewal management page in the Alibaba Cloud Management Console.
On the Manual or Nonrenewal tab, find the target instance. Then enable auto-renewal for a single instance or in a batch:
Single instance:
In the Actions column, click Enable Auto Renewal.
In the dialog box, select a Renewal Cycle and click Enable Auto Renewal.
Batch:
Select the target instances and click Enable Auto Renewal at the bottom of the page.
In the dialog box, select a Renewal Cycle and click Enable Auto Renewal.
After enabling auto-renewal, the service renews based on the selected renewal cycle. For example, a 3-month cycle charges you for 3 months at each renewal.
