Database Autonomy Service:Connect a database instance to DAS

Last Updated:Mar 20, 2025

This topic describes how to connect a database instance to Database Autonomy Service (DAS).

Features

You can use DAS to access Alibaba Cloud databases, self-managed databases hosted on Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances, and other self-managed databases or databases from third-party cloud service providers, such as self-managed databases deployed in data centers, self-managed databases hosted on third-party cloud services, and databases provided by third-party cloud service providers.

Alibaba Cloud database instances are automatically connected to DAS after the instances are created.

Limits

  • The following table describes the supported database engines.

    Database category

    Supported database engine

    Alibaba Cloud databases

    • ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, PolarDB for MySQL, and ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL

    • ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL and PolarDB for PostgreSQL

    • ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server and ApsaraDB MyBase for SQL Server

    • ApsaraDB for Redis

    • PolarDB for PostgreSQL(Compatible with Oracle)

    • PolarDB-X 2.0

    • ApsaraDB for MongoDB

    ECS-hosted self-managed databases

    • MySQL

    • PostgreSQL

    • MongoDB

    • Redis

      Note

Only self-managed Redis databases that run Redis 6.0 or earlier versions can be connected to DAS.

Other self-managed databases or databases from third-party cloud service providers

    • MySQL

    • MongoDB

    • PostgreSQL

    • Redis

      Note

Only Redis databases that run Redis 6.0 or earlier versions can be connected to DAS.

  • To connect an Alibaba Cloud database instance to DAS, the database instance must belong to the Alibaba Cloud account that you use to activate DAS.

  • To connect an ECS-hosted self-managed database to DAS, the ECS instance on which the self-managed database is deployed must belong to the Alibaba Cloud account that you use to activate DAS.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Intelligent O&M Center > Instance Monitoring.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the Instance Monitoring page, click Access Instance.

  4. On the Access Instance page, select a database category based on your business requirements.
