Cloud Storage Gateway:Manage tags

Last Updated:Mar 25, 2025

This topic describes how to add or remove tags for a file gateway in the Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG) console.

Prerequisites

A file gateway is created. For more information, see Manage file gateways.

Background information

  • Each tag is a key-value pair. Tag keys within a region must be unique. If you create a tag with the same key as an existing one within the same region, the new value will overwrite the existing value of the key.

  • You can add up to 10 tags to one gateway.

  • You can add up to five tags to a gateway, or remove up to five tags from a gateway at a time.

  • Tags are not shared across regions.

Add tags

  1. On the Gateways page of the CSG console, find the gateway and click More > Change Tags.

  2. In the Change Tags dialog box, create a tag or select an existing tag.

    • To create a tag, click Create Tag, specify a tag key in the Key field and a tag value in the Value field, and then click OK after the Value field. After the tag is created, click OK to add it to the gateway.

    • To add an existing tag to the gateway, click Existing Tags and select the tag. Click OK to add the tag to the gateway.

The tags added to a gateway are displayed in the Tags column in the gateway list.

Remove tags

  1. On the Gateways page of the CSG console, find the gateway and click More > Change Tags.

  2. In the Change Tags dialog box, click the x icon next to the tag that you want to remove and click OK.

If a tag is added to only one gateway, removing the tag from the gateway deletes the tag.
