How to add an SMB user to access an SMB share - Cloud Storage Gateway

This topic describes how to add a Server Message Block (SMB) user in Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG). SMB users can access SMB shares.

Background information

Version 1.0.36 and later allow you to add SMB users in the CSG console.

Important

If a gateway is joined to an Active Directory (AD) domain, you cannot create SMB users on the gateway. Users must be managed on the AD domain server.

Go to the Gateways page on the Cloud Storage Gateway console. Find and click the target gateway, and then click .
On the Add SMB User page, set the user name and password, and then click OK.
