Cloud Monitor:Associate an entity with a dashboard

Last Updated:Dec 25, 2025

A dashboard is a visualization tool that provides a centralized view of information, such as metrics, data trends, and monitoring status. You can associate an entity with a dashboard by adding RunbookSet and RunbookLink nodes. This association creates a visualization dashboard that you can use to analyze the entity's configuration and quickly understand its details.

Scope

  • This feature is available only for workspaces in the China (Beijing) region.

  • You have created a dashboard.

Associate a dashboard

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor 2.0 console and select the target workspace.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Entity Explorer. Click an entity type with ingested data to open its application list.

  3. From the list, select the entity that you want to associate and click it to open the entity pane.

  4. Click the Associated Dashboards tab. Click Add Association. Select a dashboard, configure its settings, and click OK.

    • Dashboard Name: By default, the name of the associated dashboard is the same as the original dashboard. You can specify a custom name.

    • Associate Only with Current Entity: By default, the dashboard is associated with all entities of the same type. Select this option to limit the association to the current entity.

    • Variable Substitution: You can add one or more variable substitutions. In each substitution, the dashboard variable name is on the left and the entity field name is on the right. When the associated dashboard is rendered, the value of the entity field is passed to the corresponding dashboard variable.
