Pay-as-you-go is a billing method that allows you to use cloud resources on demand and pay for your resource usage afterwards, eliminating the need for upfront payments. After you activate Network Analysis and Monitoring, you are charged by using the pay-as-you-go billing method based on the number of carrier detection points that you use.
Site monitoring (scheduled detections)
The following table describes how you are charged for the site monitoring feature on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Item | Description |
Scenarios | Site monitoring sends detection requests to domain names or IP addresses from carrier detection points in different regions around the world. Then, you can obtain information about the network quality and connectivity of your sites accessed by users of different carriers. |
Billing cycle | Bills are generated on a daily basis. |
Billing formula | Fee for using the site monitoring feature = Number of detection requests × Unit price of detection requests. |

Note The public preview of the virtual private cloud (VPC) detection feature ends at 11:00 (UTC+8) on April 29, 2025 and the feature is available for commercial use starting from the time point. PCs If you use detection points provided by carriers in China, the unit price is USD 1.7 per 10,000 detection requests (USD 0.00017 per detection request). If you use detection points provided by carriers outside China, the unit price is USD 8.4 per 10,000 detection requests (USD 0.00084 per detection request). If you use LastMile detection points in China, the unit price is USD 34 per 10,000 detection requests (USD 0.0034 per detection request).
Mobile devices If you use detection points provided by carriers in China, the unit price is USD 60 per 10,000 detection requests (USD 0.006 per detection request). VPC detection Unit price: USD 0.17 per 10,000 detection requests (USD 0.000017 per detection request)
Note Carriers in China are carriers that are registered in China, such as Alibaba Cloud, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom. Carriers outside China are carriers that are registered outside China, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google.

Billing example | Single-step detection PCs For example, you activated Network Analysis and Monitoring and created a single-step detection task on March 1, 2024. The task sends requests from the detection points that are located in 20 regions of China Mobile, 10 regions of AWS, and 5 LastMile detection points in China at a frequency of 5 minutes. The following items show the fees in March: Detection fee for China Mobile = 60 minutes / 5 minutes × 24 hours × 30 days × 20 detection points × USD 1.7/10,000 = USD 29.376 Detection fee for AWS = 60 minutes / 5 minutes × 24 hours × 30 days × 10 detection points × USD 8.4/10,000 = USD 72.576 Detection fee for LastMile = 60 minutes / 5 minutes × 24 hours × 30 days × 5 detection points × USD 34/10,000 = USD 146.88 Total detection fee in March = USD 29.376 + USD 72.576 + USD 146.88 = USD 248.832
Mobile devices For example, you activated Network Analysis and Monitoring and created a single-step detection task on August 1, 2023. The task sends requests from the mobile detection points that are located in five regions of China Mobile at a frequency of 5 minutes. The following items show the fee in August: Total detection fee in August = 60 minutes / 5 minutes × 24 hours × 31 days × 5 detection points × USD 60/10,000 = USD 267.84
Multi-step detection For example, you activated Network Analysis and Monitoring and created a multi-step detection task on May 1, 2025. The task contains two steps. The task sends requests from the detection points that are located in 20 regions of China Mobile and 10 regions of AWS at a frequency of 5 minutes. The following items show the fees in May: Detection fee for China Mobile = 60 minutes / 5 minutes × 24 hours × 30 days × 20 detection points × USD 1.7/10,000 = USD 29.376 Detection fee for AWS = 60 minutes / 5 minutes × 24 hours × 30 days × 10 detection points × USD 8.4/10,000 = USD 72.576 Total detection fee in May = (USD 29.376 + USD 72.576) × 2 = USD 203.904

Browser tests
The following table describes how you are charged for the browser test feature on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Item | Description |
Scenarios | You can create a browser test task to monitor the stability and performance of a URL being accessed from browsers. Simulated access requests are sent to the specified URL in different regions and network environments. |
Billing cycle | Bills are generated on a daily basis. |
Billing formula | Fee for using the browser test feature = Number of detection requests × Unit price of detection requests. |
Pricing | If you use detection points provided by carriers in China, the unit price is USD 0.0015 per detection request. If you use detection points provided by carriers outside China, the unit price is USD 0.0075 per detection request.

Billing example | For example, you activated Network Analysis and Monitoring and created a browser test task on July 1, 2023. The task sends requests to the detection points that are located in the China (Shanghai) region of Alibaba Cloud and the UK (London) region of Alibaba Cloud at a frequency of 5 minutes. The following items show the fees in July: Detection fee for the China (Shanghai) region of Alibaba Cloud = 60 minutes / 5 minutes × 24 hours × 31 days × 1 detection point × USD 0.0015 = USD 13.392 Detection fee for the UK (London) region of Alibaba Cloud = 60 minutes / 5 minutes × 24 hours × 31 days × 1 detection point × USD 0.0075 = USD 66.96 Total detection fee in July = USD 13.392 + USD 66.96 = USD 80.352
