CloudMonitor provides host monitoring for Alibaba Cloud Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances and non-ECS hosts—including virtual machines (VMs) and physical machines from third-party vendors. Install the CloudMonitor agent on any host running Linux or Windows to start collecting metrics.
Scenarios
Host monitoring tracks resource usage across your hosts and sends alert notifications when exceptions occur. Common use cases include:
-
Hybrid cloud monitoring
The CloudMonitor agent runs on both ECS instances and non-ECS hosts, allowing you to collect metrics from your entire hybrid cloud infrastructure in one place.
-
Enterprise host management
Group hosts from different regions into an application group for business-oriented management. Alert rules applied to an application group take effect on every host in that group, so a single rule covers your entire fleet without per-host configuration. This reduces operations and maintenance (O&M) overhead significantly.
Features
-
Agent installation
Install the CloudMonitor agent on any host to begin collecting operating system metrics. For installation steps, see Install and uninstall the Cloud Monitor agent.
-
Comprehensive OS metrics
Monitor CPU, memory, disk, and network metrics to cover your core O&M requirements. For the full list of supported metrics, see Operating system monitoring.
-
Process monitoring
CloudMonitor collects CPU utilization, memory usage, and open file counts for active processes, giving you visibility into per-process resource consumption on your hosts. For details, see Process monitoring.
-
GPU monitoring
View graphics processing unit (GPU) monitoring data by GPU, instance, or group. For details, see GPU monitoring.
-
Flexible alerting
Configure alert rules at the application group level to cover all hosts in the group, reducing per-host configuration overhead. For details, see Monitor a host.
