Generally, medium- and large-sized enterprises migrate services and resources to multiple clouds or hybrid clouds rather than a single cloud. In multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments, data is scattered across multiple cloud platforms and data centers. To monitor and analyze data, enterprises must aggregate and integrate the data. To centrally monitor the data in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments, you can use Cloud Monitor to create a namespace, import the data to the namespace, and visualize the data in dashboards. This topic takes Alibaba Cloud and a data center as an example to describe how to monitor resources in hybrid clouds.
Prerequisites
Hybrid Cloud Monitoring is activated. For more information, see Activate Hybrid Cloud Monitoring.
For information about the billing of dashboards, see Billing of the dashboard feature.
Step 1: Create a namespace
You can create a namespace to manage resource data in hybrid clouds.
Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Namespace page, click Create Namespace.
In the Manage Namespace panel, enter a name for the namespace. Use the default values for other parameters.
Click OK.
Step 2: Import monitoring data from Alibaba Cloud and the data center to the namespace
You can import monitoring data from Alibaba Cloud and the data center to the namespace for centralized management.
Import monitoring data from Alibaba Cloud to the namespace.
For more information, see Manage metrics of Alibaba Cloud services.
Import monitoring data from the data center to the namespace.
For more information, see Manage metric import tasks for self-managed data centers.
View the monitoring data of Alibaba Cloud and the data center.
Click the name of the namespace. On the Namespace Details page, you can view all metrics in the namespace.
Step 3: Create a dashboard
You can create a custom dashboard to visualize the monitoring data of Alibaba Cloud and the data center.
