Computing resources are the core components of CloudBox, such as vCPUs and memory resources. When you purchase a cloud box, you must purchase computing resources. This topic describes the billing of computing resources of CloudBox. This topic also describes the types of compute stock keeping units (SKUs) that you can purchase.
Billing
CloudBox provides computing resources in compute SKUs. Each SKU has different vCPU and memory specifications. A cloud box contains at least one compute SKU. You can purchase multiple compute SKUs of different types and quantities based on your business requirements. For more information, see Compute SKU specifications.
- Unit price: The unit price of each compute SKU varies with the number of vCPUs and the memory size in the compute SKU. Note Log on to the CloudBox console to view the specifications and prices of compute SKUs.
- Number: You can purchase multiple compute SKUs for each compute SKU type.
- Years: Compute SKUs are purchased on a yearly basis. If you purchase a cloud box for the first time, the initial subscription duration must be three or five years.
Payment
- All Upfront: You must make a one-time full payment at the time of purchase.
- Half Upfront: You can pay 50% of the fees first, and then equally pay the rest by month.
After you accept the purchased cloud box, Alibaba Cloud generates bills on the first day of each month based on the remaining unpaid fees and subscription duration. The amount of each monthly bill is the same. Make sure that you have sufficient balance within your account to pay the bills at the earliest opportunity. If you do not pay the bills within seven calendar days after you receive the bills, your cloud box cannot provide services normally.
Compute SKU specifications
Compute SKUs are the core compute units of CloudBox. A compute SKU specifies the number of vCPUs and the memory size. Each compute SKU provides the instance type of the highest specifications among its family and determines the instance family and number of ECS instances in a cloud box. The following table describes the instance types of the highest specifications provided by compute SKUs.
Instance type of the highest specifications | Type | Description | Other instance types of the same instance family |
---|---|---|---|
ecs.g6.26xlarge | General-purpose |
| Examples: ecs.g6.large and ecs.g6.xlarge |
ecs.c6.26xlarge | Compute-optimized |
| Examples: ecs.c6.large and ecs.c6.xlarge |
ecs.r6.26xlarge | Memory-optimized |
| Examples: ecs.r6.large and ecs.r6.xlarge |
ecs.gn6i-c24g1.24xlarge | GPU-accelerated compute-optimized |
| Example: ecs.gn6i-c4g1.xlarge |
ecs.g6se.26xlarge | Storage-enhanced |
| Examples: ecs.g6se.large and ecs.g6se.xlarge |
When you create an ECS instance, you can select other instance types that belong to the same instance family as the instance type of the highest specifications. The vCPU-to-memory ratio of instance types in the same instance family is the same. For example, if the instance type of the highest specifications supported by the purchased compute SKU is ecs.g6.26xlarge and the vCPU-to-memory ratio of this instance type is 1:4, you can choose ecs.g6.large of 2 vCPUs and 8 GiB of memory or ecs.g6.xlarge of 4 vCPUs and 16 GiB of memory when you create an ECS instance.
