Cloud Box:Purchase CloudBox resources

Last Updated:Jun 16, 2026

CloudBox resources include compute, storage, and network resources. After you purchase CloudBox resources, Alibaba Cloud deploys the underlying compute, storage, and network infrastructure to your specified local data center.

Prerequisites

  • You have reviewed the billing details for each CloudBox resource type. For more information, see Billing overview.

  • You have created a deployment site. For more information, see Create a deployment site.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Resource Directory tab.

    1. Log on to the ECS console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > CloudBox.

    3. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

    4. Click the Resource Directory tab.

  2. Select a computing SKU, specify the quantity, and then click Associate Cloud Box.

    Note

A CloudBox requires at least one computing SKU. You can combine multiple computing SKUs. For more information, see Computing SKU specifications.

On the Resource Directory tab, select a Business Scenario, such as compute-optimized, find the desired CloudBox SKU in the resource list, and set the Quantity.

  3. In the dialog box, select the target CloudBox.

    • If you already have a CloudBox, select it from the drop-down list and click OK.

    • If you do not have a CloudBox, click Create Cloud Box. In the dialog box, configure the parameters for the CloudBox and click OK.

      Parameter

      Description

      Name

Enter a custom name for the CloudBox.

      Description

The description of the CloudBox. Optional.

      Deployment site

      Select an existing deployment site.

      Cloud box zone identifier

This identifier is used to generate the public cloud zone name. Each CloudBox corresponds to one zone.

    Note

If the selected CloudBox has no compute resources, the system creates a new purchase order. If the CloudBox already has compute resources, the system creates a scale-out order.

  4. Purchase additional resources such as storage and network resources, confirm the resource details, and configure payment settings.

    Configuration

    Description

    Compute

Review your selected computing SKUs or purchase additional ones.

    Storage

    Elastic Block Storage

Select the Elastic Block Storage resources you want to purchase. For more information, see Elastic Block Storage billing.

    Object Storage Service

Select the Object Storage Service (OSS) resources you want to purchase. For more information, see Object Storage Service billing.

    Value-added Service Plan

    SLA Service Plan

Select an SLA Service Plan. By default, no Service Level Agreement (SLA) is provided for compute resources in a CloudBox.

    • OR-738C0885A1: provides SLA guarantees for the ecs.g6, ecs.c6, and ecs.r6 instance families.

    • OR-8067C6E180: provides SLA guarantees for the ecs.gn6i-c24g1 instance family.

    Local Express Connect Circuit Plan

Select a Local Express Connect Circuit Plan to increase the bandwidth between a CloudBox and your local devices from the default 20 Gbps to 60 Gbps.

    Compute Expansion Plan

Select a Compute Expansion Plan to upgrade existing computing SKUs and add more compute resources to your rack.

    Duration

The subscription duration for the CloudBox. Valid values: 3 years and 5 years.

    Payment Option

The payment option for the CloudBox. Valid values: All Upfront and Partial Upfront.

  5. Read and accept the service agreement, and then click Confirm Order.

After confirming the order, the system generates a resource demand order. You can click the Cloud Box ID to go to the Cloud Box details page, and then view the order information on the Resource Demand Order tab.

    Important

To receive the resources, you must first pay for the order. Click Pay in the order's Actions column and complete the payment.
