After you activate Cloud Backup, the service cannot be deactivated. If you no longer want to use Cloud Backup, follow the steps in this topic to stop billing for each data source. This ensures that billing stops on the day of the operation to prevent additional charges. After you delete the backup vault, you will no longer be billed for the Cloud Backup service starting from the next day.
Stop backup billing
ECS backup
ECS File Backup Essential Edition
If you cancel the backup of an ECS instance, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
At the top of the page, select the region where the instance is located. Then, in the Actions column for the instance, click Cancel Backup.
In the dialog box, click OK.
Cloud Backup deletes all backup points of the instance and stops billing for the ECS instance. This also stops billing for the storage capacity of the disks attached to the ECS instance.
ECS Backup Essential Edition
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
At the top of the page, select the region where the instance is located.
Detach the instance.
WarningAfter you detach a subscription instance, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.
In the Actions column for the target ECS instance, choose ⋮ > Unbind.
Read the notes in the dialog box carefully and select the I already understand the impact of the unbinding and have confirmed to unbind the instances. check box.
Click OK.
After an instance is detached, it no longer appears on the ECS Backup Essential Edition page.
Unsubscribe from the subscription instance.
Click View Subscription Instances.
In the View Subscription Instances panel, find the subscription instance attached to the ECS instance, and click Unsubscribe in the Actions column.
On the unsubscription management page, follow the wizard to unsubscribe from the resource.
ECS standard backup features
Stop billing for the backup feature that you use as needed.
ECS database backup
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
Delete a backup plan.
Click the Backup Plan tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose . Confirm the delete operation.
Unregister the database instance.
WarningAfter you unregister an instance, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.
On the ECS Database Instance tab, find the target instance and choose in the Actions column. Confirm the unregistration. When you unregister an ECS database instance, the backup client is automatically uninstalled. If the backup client is not automatically uninstalled, log on to the ECS instance to manually uninstall the backup client.
Clean up the configuration files.

Delete a backup vault.

Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose .

In the confirmation dialog box, click OK to delete the vault.
ImportantIf the backup vault cannot be deleted, the backup lock feature may be enabled for the vault. The vault and all its backup data cannot be deleted before they expire. Wait for the backup data to expire, and then delete the backup vault.
ECS file backup
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
Delete backup points.
On the Backup Plans tab, find the target backup plan and click the
icon to its left. In the Backup History section, delete the backup points and confirm the deletion.
(Optional) If the backup policy is associated with resources in batches by tag, you must detach the resource tags to disassociate the ECS files from the backup policy.
Delete a backup plan.
Click the Backup Plan tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose . Confirm the delete operation.
Uninstall the backup client.
WarningAfter you delete the backup client, its configuration information is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.
Click and select a region. Find the target instance. In the Actions column, choose . In the dialog box, click OK. After a few minutes, the client status changes to Uninstalled.

Delete backups.
On the ECS Instances tab, find the target instance. In the Actions column, click . Confirm the deletion to remove the backup data from the backup client.

Delete a backup vault.
WarningAfter a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.
Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose .

In the confirmation dialog box, click OK to delete the vault.
ImportantIf the backup vault cannot be deleted, the backup lock feature may be enabled for the vault. The vault and all its backup data cannot be deleted before they expire. Wait for the backup data to expire, and then delete the backup vault.
ECS instance backup
If you stop billing for ECS instance backup, you are not charged for Cloud Backup. However, you are still charged for snapshots until all backup points expire or are manually deleted.
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
(Optional) If the backup policy is associated with resources in batches by tag, you must detach the resource tags to disassociate the ECS instance from the backup policy.
On the Backed-up ECS Instances tab, find the target ECS instance. In the Actions column, choose and confirm the deletion.

On the Backed-up ECS Instances tab, find the target ECS instance. In the Actions column, choose , select all backup points, and then confirm the deletion.
On the Backed-up ECS Instances tab, find the target ECS instance and choose in the Actions column. Confirm that you want to remove the ECS instance from the list.
Disk backup
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
Delete backup points.
Click the Protected Disks tab, find the target disk, and click the
icon to its left. In the Backup History section, delete the backup points and then confirm the deletion.
Cancel the backup.
On the Protected Disks tab, find the target disk and click Cancel Backup in the Actions column. Follow the prompts to confirm the cancellation.

SAP HANA backup
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
Delete a backup plan.
Click the Backup Plan tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose . Confirm the delete operation.
Delete the instance.
Click the SAP HANA Instances tab. Find the target instance and choose in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.
Delete a backup vault.

At the top of the page, click Alibaba Cloud NAS.
(Optional) If the backup policy is associated with resources by tag, you need to detach the resource tags to disassociate Alibaba Cloud NAS from the backup policy.
Delete a backup plan.
Click the Backup Plan tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose . Confirm the delete operation.
Remove the backup mount target.
On the Backup Plans tab, click Manage Mounts. On the Manage Mounts page, find the target file system and click Remove Mount Target in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to remove the mount target.


Delete a backup vault.

Delete backup points.
On the NAS Instance tab, click the
icon to the left of the target NAS instance. Delete the backup points in the Backup History section. Then, confirm the deletion.
Delete the backup plan.
On the NAS Instance tab, find the target NAS instance and click the
icon to its left. In the Backup Plan Details section, choose from the Actions column. Then, confirm the deletion.
Delete the client group.
On the NAS Instance tab, click View Client Groups.

On the View Client Groups page, find the client group for the target data source and click Delete in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to delete the group.

Delete backups.
In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup and then click New Version. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose . Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

Delete the NAS instance.
On the NAS Instance tab, find the target NAS instance and choose in the Actions column. Then, confirm the deletion.
Delete a backup vault.

Click the Backup Plan tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose . Confirm the delete operation.
Delete a backup vault.

On the Data Source List tab, click View Client Groups.

On the View Client Groups page, find the client group for the target data source and click Delete in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to delete the group.

Delete backups.
In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup and then click New Version. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose . Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

Delete the data source.
On the Data Source List tab, find the target data source and choose in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.

Delete the disaster recovery gateway.
On the Backup & Disaster Recovery Gateway tab, find the target disaster recovery gateway and choose in the Actions column. Confirm the deletion.

Delete a backup vault.

Stop archive billing
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, click Archive.
Delete the archive plan.
On the Archive Plan tab, find the target archive plan and choose in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.

Delete the client group.
On the Analyze and Archive tab, click View Client Groups.

On the View Client Groups page, find the client group for the target data source and click Delete in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to delete the group.

Delete backups.
In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup and then click New Version. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose . Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

Delete the data source.
On the Analyze and Archive tab, find the desired data source and choose on the right. When prompted, confirm the deletion.

Delete the archive vault.
Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the target archive vault and choose in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.
Stop ECS disaster recovery billing
Async disk replication
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
Delete the drill protection group.
On the Site Pairs page, click the target site pair.

Click the Fault Drill tab. In the Actions column for the target drill protection group, click Delete Fault Drill Group and confirm the deletion. Deleting the failover drill group also deletes resources created during the drill, such as ECS instances, disks, elastic network interfaces (ENIs), snapshots, and images.

Remove the instance from the protection group.
On the Protection Group tab, click Manage Protected Instance in the Actions column of the target protection group.

In the list of protected instances, click Remove Protected Instance in the Actions column for the target instance. Confirm the removal.

Delete the protection group.
On the Protection Group tab, click the
icon in the Actions column of the target protection group, and select . In the message that appears, click OK.
Delete the vSwitch mapping and security group mapping.
On the Network & Security tab, delete the vSwitch mapping and security group mapping. Confirm each deletion.


Delete the site pair.
In the list of site pairs, click Delete in the Actions column of the target site pair, and then confirm the deletion.

Continuous replication
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
On the Overview page, click the drop-down list in the upper-right corner and select the target site pair.

Click the Protected Servers tab and select the protected servers that you want to remove. If the Server Status is Enabling Replication, Replicating Full Data, Replicating In Real Time, or Replication Enablement Error, click Stop Replication.

Wait for the replication task to complete, and then click Unregister. When the protected server list is empty, the protected servers have been successfully removed.

Stop data synchronization billing
In the navigation pane on the left of the Cloud Backup console, choose .
Delete the synchronization plan.
Click the Sync Plan tab. Find the target plan and choose from the Actions column. When prompted, confirm the deletion.

Delete the client group.
On the Data Source List tab, click View Client Groups.

On the View Client Groups page, find the target client group and click Delete in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

Delete backups.
In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup and then click New Version. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose . Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

Delete the data source.
On the Data Source List tab, find the target data source. In the Actions column, choose . Confirm the deletion.
