ApsaraDB for ClickHouse:Delete a cluster

Last Updated:Mar 28, 2026

Delete a pay-as-you-go ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster to stop billing and release all associated resources.

Warning

Deletion is permanent. All data in the cluster is deleted and cannot be restored. Back up or migrate your data before proceeding. See Data migration and synchronization and Import and export through CSV files.

Limitations

Only pay-as-you-go clusters can be deleted directly. Subscription clusters cannot be deleted — they are released in one of two ways:

Before you begin

Complete the following steps before deleting a cluster:

  1. Back up or migrate your data. Deletion is irreversible. See Data migration and synchronization or Import and export through CSV files.

  2. Settle any overdue payments. If your account has an overdue balance, the cluster may be locked. If you delete a locked cluster, the associated Classic Load Balancer (CLB) is not released automatically — CLB charges continue to accrue until you settle the balance. After you settle the overdue payment, the CLB will be released. To avoid unexpected charges, release the CLB manually before deleting. See CLB release and mount.

  3. Confirm the cluster status is Running. You cannot delete a cluster that is not in the Running state.

Billing

When you delete a cluster, billing stops immediately. The associated CLB is also released, and CLB billing stops within the next hour.

For a full breakdown of CLB fees, see Billing of dependent services.

Delete a pay-as-you-go cluster

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse console.

  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the cluster is deployed.

  3. On the Clusters page, select the instance list for the cluster type.

  4. In the Actions column of the target cluster, do one of the following based on the cluster edition:

    • Community-compatible edition: Click More > Delete.

    • Enterprise edition: Click Release.

  5. In the dialog box, click OK. Billing stops immediately after the cluster is released.
