This topic describes how to use the Send a WhatsApp Typing Indicator component. This component displays the "Typing..." indicator in the current session to let the user know that a response is forthcoming.

Preparations
Go to the canvas page of an existing flow or a new flow.
Go to the canvas page of an existing flow.
Log on to the . Choose Chat Flow > Flow Management. Click the name of the flow that you want to edit. The canvas page of the flow appears.

Create a new flow to go to the canvas page. For more information, see Create a flow.
Procedure
This component applies only to WhatsApp messages.
It is commonly used in scenarios where the merchant's response requires longer preparation time (such as calling a large language model to generate replies). It is not necessary in normal message flows. It must be used together with Send a WhatsApp Message or Wait for a WhatsApp Response component.
When using it with the Send a WhatsApp Message component, set the message type to Interactive. Otherwise, the flow editor cannot obtain the context, and this component will not take effect.
This is an interactive component that depends on the conversation context. No configuration is required, but the following conditions must be met for it to take effect:
The business must first send a message, and the user must have replied.
The user is waiting for the merchant to respond.
Add the Send a WhatsApp Typing Indicator component to your flow, and click Save.

In the dialog box that appears, click Save.
