Chat App Message Service:Manage global variables

Global variables are parameters that you can reference when you create message templates. This reduces the need to configure the same parameters multiple times. You can add, edit, and delete global variables. This topic describes how to manage global variables.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Channel Management.

  3. On the Channel Management page, click a Channel ID or click Manage in the Actions column.

  4. On the channel details page, choose Global Variable Management to open the global variable management page.

Add a global variable

Note

After you add a global variable, you can reference it when you create or edit message templates for the current channel.

  1. Click Add Variable.

  2. On the Add Variable page, enter values for Variable Code, Variable Name, Variable Type, and Example as prompted.

  3. Click OK.

Edit a global variable

  1. Click the Edit button in the row for the variable that you want to edit.

  2. On the Edit Variable page, modify the variable content.

  3. Click OK.

Delete a global variable

  1. Click the Delete button in the row for the variable that you want to delete.

  2. On the deletion confirmation page, click OK.

Search for a global variable

  1. On the Global Variable Management page, click the search box.

  2. Enter the name of the variable that you want to find.

  3. Click the Search icon.
