Chat App Message Service supports two pricing models: resource plan and pay-as-you-go.
Resource plan
Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs: No message fees and Chat App service fees are charged.
SMS and email messages: You are charged only the message fees associated with the corresponding Alibaba Cloud product (Short Message Service or Direct Mail). No additional fees for Chat App are incurred. For details of message fees, go to the console of the corresponding Alibaba Cloud product.
We will keep you updated on any changes to the billing policy.
Resource plans are the default billing method of Chat App Message Service. You can use Chat App Message Service to send messages only after you purchase resource plans. Click here to purchase
If you have purchased a resource plan, points in the resource plan are first deducted for sending messages. You need to purchase a new resource plan when the current one is used up. If you want to enable the pay-as-you-go billing method, contact sales support.
You cannot use resource plans if your account has overdue payments. Resource plans in use do not support unsubscription or extending the validity period.
The validity period of each resource plan is 12 months. A resource plan becomes invalid after the validity period. Resource plans that have expired are unavailable.
Chat App service fees
Chat App service fees do not vary with the country or region. Each message or service conversation deducts 50 points.
WhatsApp message fees
The deduction of points varies based on different countries/regions and message types. 1 point equals USD 0.0001.
Billing example:
Assume that you want to send one marketing message to a user in Malaysia, the pricing for marketing messages in Malaysia is 860 points per message, and the service fee of Chat App is 50 points per message. Therefore, the total points deducted will be: 860 + 50 = 910 points.

International authentication messages and authentication-international rates takes effect in Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and UAE on February 1, 2025.
Pay-as-you-go
Resource plans are the default billing method of Chat App Message Service. If you need pay-as-you-go billing, contact your account manager to activate it.
Viber message fees
Viber messages only support the pay-as-you-go billing method.
Viber message fees vary by country/region and message type.
The monthly fee is 197 USD per month, applicable across all countries/regions.
If your monthly usage is less than 197 USD, you will be charged the full monthly fee.
If your monthly usage exceeds 197 USD, you will be billed based on actual consumption.
The fee is waived for the first calendar month of the Viber service. Regular billing begins the following month.
International message rates are applied when a company sends messages to destinations outside its country/region of registration. The rates are uniform across all message types.
If your business involves special industries such as lending, gambling, or betting, contact your account manager to confirm pricing.
You are responsible for the legality of message content. Sending prohibited content may lead to your account being suspended by Viber or penalty fees. This includes, but is not limited to, the following types:
Content that infringes upon any rights, including third-party intellectual property rights.
Content that may be deemed abusive, discriminatory, or harassing.
Content that is illegal under applicable laws or regulations.
Content that contains or transmits viruses, worms, defects, Trojan horses, or any other malicious code.

For Viber messaging in Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine, only template-type messages are supported. You must create a template and submit it to Viber for review and approval. Non-template messages (such as plain text messages) or unreviewed template messages to these three destinations will be charged as promotion messages.
