Detach Imported Resources from CADT Without Releasing Cloud Assets - CADT

Removing resources removes imported nodes from an architecture diagram. This action does not release the corresponding resources.

Warning

This operation only removes imported nodes. For more information about releasing newly created nodes, see Release resources.

Remove some resources

CADT lets you remove one or more imported resources from an application.

Log on to the Cloud Architect Design Tools (CADT) console and go to the My Applications page.
On the My Applications page, find the application and click View Architecture Diagram.
Enable Edit mode.

Imported resources have an Imported marker below them. New nodes do not have this marker.
Select the nodes to remove. For example, to remove an ECS instance and an EIP, right-click each node and click Delete. A delete marker appears in the lower-right corner of the node. When you hover the mouse pointer over the node, Architecture to be removed is displayed.
Click Save in the upper-right corner. The Deploy Application button changes to Import Resources. Click Import Resources to remove the selected nodes.
After the process completes, the selected nodes are removed from the architecture diagram.

CADT lets you remove all imported resources from an application with a single click.

Note

You can remove all resources with a single click only when all nodes in the architecture diagram are imported nodes.

Log on to the CADT console and go to the My Applications page.
On the My Applications page, find the application and click View Architecture Diagram.
Enable Edit mode.
At the bottom of the screen, click Resource Checklist, and then click Remove All Resources.

Important
If the architecture diagram contains both new and imported nodes, and the Resource Checklist only has a Release All Resources option, clicking it performs two actions. It releases the new nodes and removes the imported nodes.
Wait for all resources to be removed.
