Bastionhost:Manage third-party asset sources

Last Updated:Mar 31, 2026

Bastionhost connects to third-party asset sources and pulls their host lists via API, letting you import and manage those hosts from a single console.

Note

Only select third-party asset sources are supported. To request support for additional sources, join the DingTalk group 33797269 to consult technical experts.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • An asset source created by a third-party service provider, with hosts already added to it

  • The Access Key ID and Secret Access Key for the third-party asset source, with read permissions on host information (see the third-party service provider's documentation for details)

Import a third-party asset source

  1. Log on to your bastion host. For more information, see Log on to the console of a bastion host.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click System Settings.

  3. On the System Settings page, click the Third-party Hosts tab.

  4. On the Third-party Hosts tab, click Import Third-party Host.

  5. In the Import Third-party Host panel, configure the following parameters and click Create.

ParameterDescription
Host NameA name for the asset source. Must be 1–128 characters and can contain letters, digits, periods (.), underscores (_), hyphens (-), backslashes (\\), and spaces. Cannot start with a special character.
Third-party ProviderThe third-party service provider that the asset source belongs to.
Access Key IDThe Access Key ID of the third-party asset source.
Secret Access KeyThe Secret Access Key of the third-party asset source.

What to do next

After importing the asset source, import its hosts into Bastionhost. For more information, see Import a host from a third-party asset source.

Related operations

Synchronize an asset source

If the information about a third-party asset source has changed, synchronize the source to obtain the most recent host information.

On the Third-party Hosts tab, find the asset source and click Synchronize in the Actions column.

Modify an asset source

Update the name, service provider, Access Key ID, or Secret Access Key of an existing asset source.

On the Third-party Hosts tab, click the name of the asset source. In the Modify Information About Third-party Host panel, update the information and click Edit.

Delete an asset source

Important

Delete all hosts that belong to the asset source before deleting the source itself. Bastionhost cannot delete an asset source that still has hosts. For more information, see Delete a host.

On the Third-party Hosts tab, find the asset source and click Delete in the Actions column. In the confirmation dialog, click Delete.
