From January 3, 2023, Alibaba Cloud starts to roll out updates based on Bastionhost V3.2.31 for users of Bastionhost V3.2.X. Bastionhost V3.2.31 provides new features such as Oracle database O&M and asset connectivity check, and optimizes the management of third-party asset sources and O&M portal. These optimizations will offer you a better O&M experience.

New features
Oracle database O&M is supported.
You can import and manage third-party asset sources from Amazon Web Services and Tencent Cloud.
The O&M portal is optimized to allow users to modify key and user information.
Asset connectivity check can be performed automatically and the connectivity status is updated every 4 hours.

Update methods
You can use one of the following two methods to update your bastion hosts:
Custom update: You can specify a custom period during which you want to update your bastion host. The period must be within the available update period for the region of your bastion host. For more information, see Update a bastion host.
Automatic update: Your bastion host is automatically updated when a default update period starts. If you do not specify a custom update period, your bastion host is automatically updated during a default period.
The default period for automatic update of a bastion host is a random period within the available update period. If you want to update your bastion host during a custom period, we recommend that you specify the custom period at the beginning of the available update period.
The default period may overlap with the peak hours of your business. This may affect your business. To prevent business interruptions, we recommend that you specify a custom period during which the impact of an update is minimized.
Impact
If your bastion host is being updated, it is in the Updating Configuration state, and your business may be interrupted for a few seconds. To prevent business interruptions, we recommend that you specify a custom period during which the impact of an update is minimized.
The default encoding format of Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) for client-based O&M is changed to UTF-8.
After a Resource Access Management (RAM) user modifies the public key, multi-factor authentication (MFA) must be enabled to log on to the bastion host by using the key.
