ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ:Overdue payments

This topic describes resource status and handling methods after your ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance expires or your Alibaba Cloud account has overdue payments. To ensure business continuity, we recommend that you renew your instance or top up your account at the earliest opportunity.

Subscription instances

A subscription instance is available until it expires, regardless of whether your Alibaba Cloud account has sufficient balance. However, you cannot purchase new instances or upgrade or renew existing subscription instances if your account balance is lower than the required amount.

The following figure describes the status changes of an expired subscription ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance:实例到期

  • Before the instance expires:

    The instance runs as expected.

  • Within seven days after the instance expires:

    • The ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ service becomes unavailable, the ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ console cannot be used, and API operations cannot be called.

    • Metadata, including information about the instance, topics, and consumer groups, is retained.

    • During this period, you can restore the instance by renewing it. For more information, see Renewal rules and methods.

  • Seven days after the instance expires:

    If you do not renew the instance within seven days after it expires, the instance and its metadata are released and can no longer be restored.

Pay-as-you-go and serverless instances

You are charged for pay-as-you-go and serverless ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instances on an hourly basis. ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ settles your fees for the previous hour at the beginning of each hour and deducts the fees from your Alibaba Cloud account balance based on the bill. Bills are automatically generated. The time at which bills are delivered may vary.

If your account balance is insufficient to pay the bill amount, the following impacts are caused to ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ:

  • The ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ service becomes unavailable,

    • The ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ console cannot be used, and API operation cannot be called.

    • Metadata, including information about the instance, topics, and consumer groups, is retained.

    • During this period, you can restore the instance by adding funds to your account.

  • Seven days after the instance is stopped

    If you do not add funds to your account within seven days after the instance is stopped, the instance is released, and topics and consumer groups created on it are deleted and cannot be restored.
