ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ:Renewal

Last Updated:Jun 20, 2026

When a subscription ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance expires, its service is interrupted. To continue using ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ, you must renew the instance within the specified period. Otherwise, the ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance and its related resources are automatically released and cannot be recovered. This topic describes instance renewal rules and procedures.

Background

ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ supports two renewal methods: auto-renewal and manual renewal. To prevent your services from being affected by a missed renewal, we recommend that you enable auto-renewal for your instance.

Renewal rules

  • Applicable instances

Renewal is available only for subscription ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instances. Pay-as-you-go instances do not require renewal. You only need to ensure that your Alibaba Cloud account has sufficient available credit.

  • Renewal window

    • Auto-renewal: The system initiates the renewal process nine days before the instance expires. If an attempt fails, it retries once daily until the renewal is successful or until one day before the expiration date.

    • Manual renewal: You can manually renew an instance anytime after purchase until seven days after it expires. If you do not renew the instance within this seven-day grace period, the system releases it and its resources.

  • Effective time

The renewal takes effect at the beginning of the next billing cycle.

  • Renewal duration

You can renew an instance for 1 to 6 months, or for 1 year.
