Migration

The migration feature is supported by ApsaraMQ for Kafka. This feature is an integration of the original migration router feature.

• Cloud migration: allows you to synchronize data between a self-managed or cross-cloud instance and an ApsaraMQ for Kafka instance.

• Cross-instance migration: allows you to synchronize data between ApsaraMQ for Kafka instances.

• Metadata import: allows you to synchronize the metadata of a self-managed Kafka cluster to an existing ApsaraMQ for Kafka instance.

Partition balancing

The partition balancing feature is supported by ApsaraMQ for Kafka.

• If partitions are unevenly distributed among topics that use cloud storage in a cluster, you can use the partition balancing feature to redistribute the partitions. This helps ensure that the number of partitions on each node is the same.

• If partitions are unevenly distributed among topics that use cloud storage in a cluster and traffic in a topic is excessive, you can use the partition balancing feature to redirect traffic from the topic to a topic that has low disk usage.
