ApsaraMQ for Kafka:Purchase and deploy Confluent instances

Before you use a Confluent cluster, you must purchase and deploy an instance. This topic describes how to purchase and deploy an instance.

Prerequisites

  • An ApsaraMQ for Confluent cluster requires a quota of Server Load Balancer (SLB) resources. Make sure that your account has no overdue payments before you purchase an instance.

  • You must be authorized to access ApsaraMQ for Kafka. For more information, see Grant access permissions.

Purchase an instance

  1. Log on to the ApsaraMQ for Confluent console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select a region and click Buy Instance.

  3. In the Select Instance Billing Method panel, set Instance Series to Confluent Edition Instance, and then click OK.

  4. On the Create Confluent page, configure the parameters, click Create Cluster, and then complete the payment as prompted.

    Computing resource configuration

    Select the computing resources and storage size based on your cluster scale, and configure custom component resources as needed. For configuration suggestions, see Evaluate cluster resource specifications.

    Note

    One capacity unit (CU) represents a computing resource with one CPU core and 4 GB of memory.

Deploy an instance

  1. Log on to the ApsaraMQ for Confluent console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

  2. In the top menu bar, select a region. On the Instances page, find an instance whose status is Not Deployed and click Deploy in the Actions column.

  3. In the Deploy Instance panel, configure the parameters and click OK.

    The instance enters the Deploying state. The deployment takes 10 to 30 minutes.

Upgrade an instance

If the purchased instance does not meet your business requirements, you can upgrade its configuration by performing the following steps:

  1. On the Instance Details page, click Upgrade in the upper-right corner.

  2. On the Upgrade Confluent page, upgrade the component resources, and then click Upgrade. Complete the payment as prompted.

  3. After you complete the payment, the instance status changes to Upgrading. The configuration upgrade is complete when the instance status changes to In Service.
