Renew a host before its subscription expires to prevent service interruption. If the subscription lapses, the host enters a two-phase grace period before being permanently released.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
A host created in an ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL dedicated cluster. For more information, see Create a host in an ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL dedicated cluster
What happens when a subscription expires
After a subscription expires, the host goes through two retention periods before it is permanently released.
| Phase | Duration | Host status | Required action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Post-expiration retention | 14 days | Running and available | Renew to avoid downtime |
| Post-stop retention | 6 days | Stopped, not released | Renew to recover the host |
| Released | — | Permanently deleted | Cannot be restored |
Renew before the host expires. At the end of the 14-day retention period, the host stops running, which interrupts your services. A released host cannot be restored.
