During host maintenance or when you want to prevent the system from scheduling new instances to a specific host, disable instance allocation on that host. Re-enable it when the host is ready to accept instances again.
How it works
Each host in a dedicated cluster has an Allocation Status that controls whether the system can place new database instances on it:
| Status | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Allocation Allowed | The host accepts new instance assignments from the system. This is the default status. |
| Allocation Stopped | The host is excluded from instance scheduling. |
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
-
An ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL host. To create one, see Create a host in an ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL dedicated cluster.
Enable or disable instance allocation
-
Log on to the ApsaraDB MyBase console.
-
In the upper-left corner of the page, select a region.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, click Hosts.
-
Find the host you want to manage, and choose More > Enable/Disable Instance Allocation.
-
Select Allocation Stopped or Allocation Allowed, then click OK.
After you click OK, the Allocation Status column on the Hosts page reflects the updated state.
