Shared instances of API Gateway will be upgraded to serverless instances in batches.
Serverless instances are shared among multiple users and require no upfront purchase. You are charged only for actual API calls at the same rates as shared instances. Compared with shared instances, serverless instances provide dynamic elasticity and a 99.9% SLA guarantee.
Serverless instances are being rolled out through canary release. In regions where serverless instances are available, menu items related to shared instances are changed to serverless instances in the console. The upgrade is performed as a hot upgrade and does not affect API calls to the original shared instances.
