API Gateway (Classic) will be discontinued due to a product strategy adjustment. All services will be shut down on September 21, 2027. Migrate to Cloud-native API Gateway at your earliest opportunity to ensure business continuity.
Background
Cloud-native API Gateway inherits the core capabilities of API Gateway (Classic) and MSE Cloud-native Gateway, with a fully upgraded architecture that consolidates API management, route management, Ingress management, and other capabilities into one next-generation gateway.
API Gateway (Classic) and MSE Cloud-native Gateway overlapped in capabilities such as route forwarding, authentication and authorization, and traffic throttling, which increased the complexity of product selection and gateway architecture design.
To lower the barriers to selection and use and to simplify the overall gateway architecture, we merged the capabilities of both products into Cloud-native API Gateway and initiated the end of service for API Gateway (Classic) and MSE Cloud-native Gateway. After the end of service is complete, Cloud-native API Gateway will become the unified choice for Alibaba Cloud gateway products, offering more focused feature evolution and a more consistent user experience.

Scope of impact
This end of service involves the following two products:
API Gateway (Classic): the API Gateway service that Alibaba Cloud launched in its early days.
MSE Cloud-native Gateway: the gateway product in Microservices Engine (MSE).
Impact after the end of service
After all services are shut down on September 21, 2027, the two preceding products no longer provide any technical support or service guarantee. The following services go offline at the same time:
The product console becomes inaccessible.
Technical support services are terminated.
Ticket services are terminated.
Refund services are terminated. If you need a refund, submit a refund application through the ticket system before this date.
Migration recommendations
To ensure business continuity, migrate your workloads to Cloud-native API Gateway as soon as possible before all services are shut down on September 21, 2027.

Refund policy
After all services are shut down on September 21, 2027, the console, related support services, and ticket services go offline, and refund services stop at the same time.
