API Gateway has two sub-products: Cloud-native API Gateway for microservice applications, and AI Gateway for AI applications. Choose the path that matches your use case to get started.

Cloud-native API Gateway

Cloud-native API Gateway is designed for microservice and container-based workloads. Use it to expose, route, and manage HTTP APIs within Alibaba Cloud Kubernetes (ACK) clusters or across services.

Access applications in ACK using an HTTP API — Expose an application running in an ACK cluster through a Cloud-native API Gateway HTTP API.
REST API lifecycle — Follow the full lifecycle of a REST API from creation and configuration through deployment and versioning.

AI Gateway

AI Gateway is designed for AI application workloads. Use it to manage access to large language model (LLM) APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) services, with built-in load balancing, rate limiting, and observability.

Manage Model APIs — Set up a unified LLM API entry point to route and balance requests across multiple model providers.
Manage MCP services — Register and expose MCP services through AI Gateway to enable tool-calling workflows for AI agents.
