The Traffic Security Overview page consolidates DDoS protection status across your Alibaba Cloud assets. Use this page to monitor ongoing attacks, check protection coverage, review historical attack trends, and take action on unprotected or affected resources.
Access the overview page
Log in to the Alibaba Cloud console.
Open the Overview page of the Traffic Security console.
If you enabled the multi-account management feature and your account is a member account, the Overview page displays only assets owned by the management account. Assets belonging to member accounts are not shown. For details, see Use the multi-account management feature.
Supported asset types
The Overview page displays assets that have public IP addresses assigned, including:
Elastic Compute Service (ECS)
Server Load Balancer (SLB)
Elastic IP Address (EIP), including EIPs attached to NAT Gateway
IPv6 gateway
Simple Application Server
Web Application Firewall (WAF)
Global Accelerator (GA)
AnyCastEIP
DDoS-related Security Posture of Alibaba Cloud Within Last Year
This section displays the number of DDoS attacks targeting Alibaba Cloud assets over the past year and the peak attack throughput in bits per second (bps). Use the monthly view to identify seasonal attack patterns.
DDoS-related Security Posture Within Current Account
This section shows assets under your account that are currently in one of the following states:
Blackhole filtering -- Alibaba Cloud temporarily blocks the asset's IP address from all internet traffic when attack volume exceeds the asset's protection capacity, protecting the asset from further damage and preventing the attack from affecting other services on the network.
Traffic scrubbing -- suspicious traffic is diverted through scrubbing centers where malicious packets are removed and legitimate traffic is forwarded to the destination.
The section also lists assets that have been attacked in the past three months.
Respond to affected assets
For assets currently in blackhole filtering or traffic scrubbing status, click Handle Now to deploy protection.
If you already purchased an Anti-DDoS Origin instance: Select the instance, then click Native Protect in the Actions column to add the affected assets to the protection scope. For details, see Add an object for protection.
If you have not purchased an Anti-DDoS Origin instance: Choose an anti-DDoS solution based on your business requirements. For guidance, see Scenario-specific anti-DDoS solutions.
Protection Status
This section shows your current defense coverage and capacity.
IP Address Protection Status
Displays the number of protected assets, total asset count, and protection coverage rate. If any assets are unprotected, click Enable Protection Now to configure protection. For details, see Use the mitigation settings feature.
Traffic Protection Status
Shows the peak attack throughput encountered by your Anti-DDoS Origin instance. If this value exceeds the protection capacity of your instance, upgrade the instance type. For details, see Upgrade an instance.
Anti-DDoS Services and Solutions
Alibaba Cloud offers a range of Anti-DDoS solutions for different scenarios. For help selecting the right solution, see Scenario-specific anti-DDoS solutions.
Historical Attack Analysis Within Account
This section tracks the trend of network attacks on your assets over the past year. Use it to evaluate threats and plan your security strategy.
Attack Trend
Displays the following metrics over time:
Traffic Scrubbing Sessions -- the number of scrubbing events.
Blackhole Filtering Event -- the number of blackholing events.
IP Addresses Under Traffic Scrubbing -- the count of IP addresses that underwent scrubbing.
IP Address Under Blackhole Filtering -- the count of IP addresses that entered blackhole filtering.
Hotspot Assets
Lists the assets most frequently targeted over the past year. Prioritize stronger protection for these assets. For guidance, see Best practices for mitigating DDoS attacks.
Peak Attack Throughput
Charts the trend of peak attack throughput over time.
Attacked Duration
Charts the trend of attack durations over time.
