Data Transmission Service (DTS) lets you import data from RDS for SQL Server into AnalyticDB for MySQL for real-time analytics. Two methods are available: data synchronization and data migration.
Choose a method
| Data synchronization | Data migration | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Keeps the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster continuously in sync with the RDS for SQL Server source | Performs a one-time transfer of data from the RDS for SQL Server instance to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster |
| Best for | Ongoing replication where the destination must stay current with the source | Initial or bulk data loads where you only need to move data once |
Synchronize data
Follow the steps in Synchronize data from an RDS for SQL Server instance to an AnalyticDB for MySQL V3.0 cluster to set up continuous data synchronization.
Migrate data
Follow the steps in Migrate data from an RDS for SQL Server instance to an AnalyticDB for MySQL V3.0 cluster to run a one-time data migration.
