AnalyticDB:Tableau

Connect Tableau to an AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster to build interactive dashboards and visual reports.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, install the following:

Also gather the following connection information:

  • The endpoint of your AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster

  • The port number

  • A username and password (privileged account or standard account)

Connect to AnalyticDB for MySQL

  1. Start Tableau. In the left-side navigation pane, click MySQL.

  2. In the MySQL dialog box, enter the connection details:

    • Server: The endpoint of your AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster.

    • Port: The port of your AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster.

    • Username: The account to connect with. AnalyticDB for MySQL supports two account types: privileged account and standard account.

    • Password: The password for the account.

  3. Click Sign In.

Set up the data source

After signing in, Tableau displays the databases you have permission to access.

  1. Select a database.

  2. Select the tables to work with.

  3. Drag tables onto the canvas to preview data and start building visual reports and dashboards.
