Update behavior by cluster type
Engine version updates affect clusters differently depending on their configuration.

The following behaviors apply to all cluster types during an engine version update:
Cluster upgrades do not affect database access, account management, database management, or IP address whitelist settings.
Network jitter may occur and affect write and query operations. Configure automatic reconnection policies for your applications before the update begins.
The cluster may experience service interruptions. Configure automatic reconnection policies for your applications before the update begins.
