Storage plans let you prepay for data storage in AnalyticDB for MySQL at a lower rate than pay-as-you-go pricing. Each plan covers a specific storage type in a specific region — purchase a plan, and its capacity automatically offsets your matching storage costs until it expires.
Constraints
Storage plans expire on their end date. Any unused capacity is forfeited at expiration, regardless of how much remains.
Upgrading an existing storage plan is not supported. To add capacity, purchase additional plans.
Refunds are not supported.
How it works
Each storage plan is scoped to one storage type and one region (for example, Hot Data in Chinese Mainland covers only hot data storage for clusters in the Chinese mainland). When billing runs, the plan offsets qualifying storage costs in a fixed priority order.

When a single plan covers multiple clusters, costs are offset in the following order:

Additional rules:
If plan capacity runs out before all storage costs are covered, the remaining usage is charged at the pay-as-you-go rate.
If you hold multiple plans of the same type, the plan with the earliest expiration date is used first.
Examples
Example: Partial offset (usage exceeds plan capacity)
Two clusters in China (Hangzhou) use the following storage:

Offset outcome:
Hot data: The 100 GB-month plan offsets 50 GB for the Data Lakehouse Edition cluster first (higher priority), then 50 GB for the Data Warehouse Edition cluster. The remaining 10 GB of hot data in the Data Warehouse Edition cluster is charged at the pay-as-you-go rate.
Cold data: The two cold data plans together provide 1,500 GB-month, which covers all 1,500 GB of cold storage. No additional charges apply.
Billing
Storage plans use the subscription billing method.

Cold data plans use volume-based pricing — larger capacity tiers offer lower per-unit rates.
Purchase a storage plan
Go to the Storage Plan purchase page and configure the following parameters.
Parameter Description Plan Type The storage type and region the plan covers. A plan offsets only costs for storage that matches both the type and the region. Resource Plan Specification The storage capacity of the plan. Duration The validity period of the plan. Unused capacity expires when the validity period ends. Quantity The number of plans to purchase. Click Buy Now. On the Confirm Order page, verify the order details, read and accept the Terms of Service, and complete payment. The storage plan takes effect immediately after payment.
View storage plan details
Only storage plans that are currently active or expired within the last year are visible.
Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Billing Account > Resource Packages.
On the Instances tab, view the Status, Total Capacity, and Remaining Capacity of each plan.
On the Details tab, view the offset details of your storage plans.
