Precautions

• Storage plans have an expiration date. Any remaining capacity expires automatically upon expiration.

• Upgrading storage plans is not currently supported. If your storage plan capacity is insufficient, you can purchase additional storage plans.

• Refunds for storage plans are not supported at this time.

Offset Rules

Rules

• Storage plans can be used to offset the data storage costs of subscription and pay-as-you-go clusters.

• Each type of storage plan is applicable to only a specific storage type in a specific region. For example, you can use the storage plan of the Hot Data in Chinese Mainland type to offset only the hot data storage costs of clusters in the Chinese mainland.

• You can use one storage plan to offset the data storage costs of multiple clusters in the following order:

  • Storage plan for hot data: subscription Enterprise Edition clusters = subscription Data Lakehouse Edition clusters > subscription Data Warehouse Edition clusters > pay-as-you-go Enterprise Edition clusters = pay-as-you-go Data Lakehouse Edition clusters > pay-as-you-go Data Warehouse Edition clusters > subscription Basic Edition clusters > pay-as-you-go Basic Edition clusters.

  • Storage plan for cold data: subscription Enterprise Edition clusters = subscription Basic Edition clusters = subscription Data Lakehouse Edition clusters > subscription Data Warehouse Edition clusters > pay-as-you-go Enterprise Edition clusters = pay-as-you-go Basic Edition clusters = pay-as-you-go Data Lakehouse Edition clusters > pay-as-you-go Data Warehouse Edition clusters.

• If the remaining capacity of your storage plans is not sufficient to offset the used data storage, you are charged for the excessive storage based on the pay-as-you-go billing method.

• You can use multiple storage plans of the same type. The storage plan that has the earliest expiration time is used first.

Examples

The following table describes information about the involved sample clusters and used data storage:

The following storage plans are purchased:

• One storage plan of the Hot Data in Chinese Mainland type that provides 100 GB-month of data storage.

• One storage plan of the Cold Data in Chinese Mainland type that provides 1,000 GB-month of data storage and one storage plan of the Cold Data in Chinese Mainland type that provides 500 GB-month of data storage.

Offset details:

• The Data Lakehouse Edition cluster and the Data Warehouse Edition cluster in the China (Hangzhou) region use a total of 110 GB of hot data storage. The storage plan of the Hot Data in Chinese Mainland type provides 100 GB-month of data storage. You can use the storage plan to offset first the costs for 50 GB of hot data storage in the Data Lakehouse Edition cluster and then the costs for 50 GB of hot data storage in the Data Warehouse Edition cluster. You are charged for the remaining 10 GB of hot data storage in the Data Warehouse Edition cluster based on the pay-as-you-go billing method.

• The Data Lakehouse Edition cluster and the Data Warehouse Edition cluster in the China (Hangzhou) region use a total of 1,500 GB of cold data storage. The storage plans of the Cold Data in Chinese Mainland type provide a total of 1,500 GB-month of data storage and can offset all costs of cold data storage in the two clusters. No additional cold storage charges are required.

Price

Purchase a storage plan

1. Go to the buy page of storage plans and configure the parameters that are described in the following table.

   Parameter	Description
   Plan Type	The type of the storage plan, which specifies the type of the data storage and the region in which the cluster is deployed. Storage plans can be used to offset only the costs of data storage that meets requirements.
   Resource Plan Specification	The size of the storage plan.
   Duration	The duration of the storage plan. Important The duration is equivalent to the validity period of the storage plan. After the validity period ends, the remaining capacity automatically becomes invalid.
   Quantity	The number of storage plans that you want to purchase.

2. Click Buy Now. On the Confirm Order page, confirm the order information, read and select the Terms of Service, and then complete the payment. After the payment is complete, the storage plan immediately takes effect.

View the capacity and offset information of storage plans

1. Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.

2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Billing Account > Resource Packages.

3. On the Instances tab, view the Status, Total Capacity, Remaining Capacity of storage plans:
