    A storage plan is a prepaid option that helps you save on storage costs for AnalyticDB for MySQL. By purchasing storage capacity on a subscription basis, you receive a discount compared to pay-as-you-go pricing. This topic describes the usage notes, deduction rules, pricing, and purchase process for storage plans.

    Notes

    • Storage plans have a validity period. Unused capacity expires when the plan ends.

    • Storage plans cannot be upgraded. To add capacity, purchase additional plans.

    • Storage plans cannot be canceled and are non-refundable.

    Deduction rules

    Rules

    • Storage plans can be used to cover the storage usage of both Subscription and Pay-as-you-go clusters.

    • Each storage plan applies only to a specific storage type in a specific region. For example, a General-purpose Hot Data (Chinese mainland) plan applies only to hot data storage usage from clusters within the Chinese mainland.

    • A single storage plan can be applied to multiple clusters.

      • The system applies general-purpose hot data storage plans in the following order: subscription Enterprise Edition and Data Lakehouse Edition clusters (equal priority) > subscription Data Warehouse Edition clusters > pay-as-you-go Enterprise Edition and Data Lakehouse Edition clusters (equal priority) > pay-as-you-go Data Warehouse Edition clusters > subscription Basic Edition clusters > pay-as-you-go Basic Edition clusters.

      • The system applies general-purpose cold data storage plans in the following order: subscription Enterprise Edition, Basic Edition, and Data Lakehouse Edition clusters (equal priority) > subscription Data Warehouse Edition clusters > pay-as-you-go Enterprise Edition, Basic Edition, and Data Lakehouse Edition clusters (equal priority) > pay-as-you-go Data Warehouse Edition clusters.

    • If your storage plan has insufficient capacity to cover your usage, the excess usage is billed at the pay-as-you-go rate.

    • If you have multiple storage plans of the same type, the system applies the one with the earliest expiration date first.

    Example

    Consider the following clusters and their storage usage:

    One Data Lakehouse Edition cluster in the China (Hangzhou) region

    • Hot data storage: 50 GB

    • Cold data storage: 800 GB

    One Data Warehouse Edition cluster in the China (Hangzhou) region

    • Hot data storage: 60 GB

    • Cold data storage: 700 GB

    You purchase the following storage plans:

    • One 100 GB General-purpose Hot Data (Chinese mainland) plan.

    • One 1,000 GB and one 500 GB General-purpose Cold Data (Chinese mainland) plan.

    The deductions are applied as follows:

    • The Data Lakehouse Edition and Data Warehouse Edition clusters in the China (Hangzhou) region have a total hot data storage usage of 110 GB. The 100 GB General-purpose Hot Data (Chinese mainland) plan first covers the 50 GB usage of the Data Lakehouse Edition cluster. The plan's remaining 50 GB is then used to cover 50 GB of usage from the Data Warehouse Edition cluster. The remaining 10 GB of hot data storage for the Data Warehouse Edition cluster is billed at the pay-as-you-go rate.

    • The Data Lakehouse Edition and Data Warehouse Edition clusters in the China (Hangzhou) region have a total cold data storage usage of 1,500 GB. The General-purpose Cold Data (Chinese mainland) plans provide a total capacity of 1,500 GB, which covers the entire usage. No additional fees for cold data storage are incurred.

    Purchase a plan

    1. Go to the storage plan buy page and configure the following parameters.

      Parameter

      Description

      Plan type

      Specifies the plan's applicable storage type and region. A plan covers only usage that matches its specified type and region.

      Capacity

      The capacity of the storage plan.

      Subscription Duration

      The validity period of the storage plan.

      Important

      Unused capacity expires when the plan ends.

      Quantity

      The number of storage plans to purchase.

    2. Click Buy Now. On the Confirm Order page, verify the order details, accept the terms of service, and then complete the payment.

    View storage plans

    Note

    You can view active storage plans and plans that expired within the last year.

    1. Log in to the Expenses and Costs console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Account > Resource Plan.

    3. On the Instances tab, you can view information such as the Status, Total, and Remaining Capacity of your plans.

    4. Click the Usage Details tab to view the hourly usage details for each storage plan.

    Renew a plan

    1. Log in to the Expenses and Costs console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Orders > Renewals.

    3. Find the plan that you want to renew, and in the Actions column, click Renew.

    4. Select a Subscription Duration, accept the terms of service, click Buy Now, and then complete the payment.
