When you upgrade or downgrade an AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster, billing adjusts based on the new specifications. The billing model — subscription or pay-as-you-go — determines how the adjustment is calculated.
Subscription
Upgrade
Upgrading a subscription cluster charges a one-time fee for the difference in price over the remaining subscription period, calculated to the second:
Upgrade fee = (Daily unit price after upgrade ÷ 24 ÷ 3,600) × Remaining seconds
− (Daily unit price before upgrade ÷ 24 ÷ 3,600) × Remaining seconds
The daily unit price depends on the length of your remaining subscription period:
| Remaining subscription period | Daily unit price |
|---|---|
| Less than 365 days | Monthly unit price ÷ 30 |
| 365 days or more | Annual unit price ÷ 365 |
Downgrade
Downgrading a subscription cluster follows the standard refund policy. For refund rules and eligibility, see Rules for unsubscribing from resources.
Pay-as-you-go
Pay-as-you-go lets you use resources before you pay for them. You are billed on an hourly basis. After a configuration change, billing is based on the upgraded or downgraded specifications.
