AnalyticDB:Acu-hour plan

Last Updated:Jun 18, 2026

An ACU-hour plan is a prepaid resource plan offered by AnalyticDB for MySQL. Within the plan's validity period, resources consumed by Enterprise Edition, Basic Edition, and Data Lakehouse Edition clusters are deducted from the plan on an hourly basis.

Offset rules

Eligible resources

  • For pay-as-you-go Enterprise Edition and Basic Edition clusters, acu-hour plans can offset both reserved resources and elastic resources.

  • For pay-as-you-go Data Lakehouse Edition clusters, acu-hour plans can offset reserved computing resources, reserved storage resources, and elastic resources.

  • For subscription Enterprise Edition, Basic Edition, and Data Lakehouse Edition clusters, acu-hour plans can offset only elastic resources.

Offset priority

  • An acu-hour plan can only offset resources for clusters in the same region.

  • A single acu-hour plan can be shared by multiple clusters in the same region.

  • Resources are offset in the following order of priority: elastic resources of pay-as-you-go Enterprise Edition clusters = elastic resources of pay-as-you-go Basic Edition clusters = elastic resources of pay-as-you-go Data Lakehouse Edition clusters > reserved computing resources of pay-as-you-go Data Lakehouse Edition clusters > reserved storage resources of pay-as-you-go Data Lakehouse Edition clusters > reserved resources of pay-as-you-go Enterprise Edition clusters = reserved resources of pay-as-you-go Basic Edition clusters > elastic resources of subscription Enterprise Edition clusters = elastic resources of subscription Basic Edition clusters = elastic resources of subscription Data Lakehouse Edition clusters.

  • During the validity period, resources consumed by your clusters are deducted from the acu-hour plan on an hourly basis. Any usage that exceeds the plan's capacity is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

  • An acu-hour plan is valid for one month. Any unused resources expire at the end of the validity period.

  • You can renew and purchase multiple acu-hour plans to stack their capacity. Plans cannot be upgraded or downgraded.

Offset examples

  • Example 1

You have a subscription Data Lakehouse Edition cluster in the China (Hangzhou) region with a 3-month subscription period.

    • Reserved computing resources: 32 ACUs.

    • Reserved storage resources: 24 ACUs.

    • Elastic resources: A scaling plan for an Interactive resource group scales up resources by 16 ACUs for 5 hours. This plan runs 4 times per month.

    • Acu-hour plan: You purchase one plan with a capacity of 1,000 ACU-hours for a 3-month subscription period.

How the offset works: For a subscription cluster, an acu-hour plan can offset only elastic resources. The monthly consumption of elastic resources is 320 ACU-hours (16 ACUs × 5 hours × 4 times). During the 3-month subscription period, 1,000 ACU-hours are allocated each month to offset the 320 ACU-hours of elastic resources. The remaining 680 ACU-hours in the plan expire at the end of each month.

  • Example 2

You have a pay-as-you-go Data Lakehouse Edition cluster in the China (Hangzhou) region that you use for one month.

    • Reserved computing resources: 32 ACUs.

    • Reserved storage resources: 24 ACUs.

    • Elastic resources: You create a Job resource group with 0 reserved resources. You use this Job resource group to run a Spark job that is configured with a resource specification of 2 cores and 4 GB of memory (equivalent to 2 × 0.8 ACUs). The job runs for 10 hours.

    • Acu-hour plan: You purchase three plans, each with a capacity of 10,000 ACU-hours, for a 1-month subscription period.

The ACU-hour consumption of the cluster within one month is as follows:

    • Reserved computing resources: 32 ACUs × 30 days × 24 hours = 23,040 ACU-hours.

    • Reserved storage resources: 24 ACUs × 30 days × 24 hours = 17,280 ACU-hours.

    • Elastic resources: 2 × 0.8 ACUs × 10 hours = 16 ACU-hours.

    Total ACU consumption = 23,040 ACU-hours + 17,280 ACU-hours + 16 ACU-hours = 40,336 ACU-hours.

How the offset works: For a pay-as-you-go cluster, an acu-hour plan can offset reserved computing resources, reserved storage resources, and elastic resources. The acu-hour plans provide a total of 30,000 ACU-hours to offset resource consumption. The excess 10,336 ACU-hours are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

    Description

    Plan Type

    acu-hour plan.

    Region

Select the region where your Enterprise Edition, Basic Edition, or Data Lakehouse Edition cluster is located.

    ACU plan capacity

    The following capacities are supported:

    • 200

    • 1,000

    • 5,000

    • 10,000

    • 50,000

The larger the plan capacity, the greater the discount.

    Quantity

Select the number of acu-hour plans to purchase.

    Subscription Duration

Select the subscription duration for the acu-hour plan.

Each offset cycle runs from the purchase time to the same time on the same day of the following month. At the start of each cycle, a fixed amount of resources (Plan Capacity × Quantity) is allocated. Unused resources expire at the end of each cycle and do not carry over.

For example, if you purchase one acu-hour plan with a capacity of 1,000 ACU-hours for a 3-month subscription period at 10:00 on May 4, the available quota is allocated as follows:

    • 10:00, May 4 to 10:00, June 4: 1,000 ACU-hours are available.

    • 10:00, June 4 to 10:00, July 4: 1,000 ACU-hours are available.
