This topic describes the concepts of email management platform and postmaster account.

What is the Postmaster Account?

After purchasing the Alibaba Mail, Alibaba Cloud provides you with an administrator account, that is, the primary administrator account, which can also be called a postmaster account. It consists of three parts: postmaster + @ + domain name. The administrator can use the postmaster account to log on to the email management platform to manage email accounts of enterprise and customize the email information of the enterprise.

Important

The postmaster account is a complimentary account attached to Alibaba Mail, which does not occupy the number of users purchased and is mainly used for daily operation and maintenance management. The capacity is 5MB, and it is not recommended to be used for daily mail sending and receiving, and the capacity cannot be adjusted.

What is the Alibaba Mail Management Platform?

The Alibaba Mail management platform is the operation platform of the mailbox administrator. The postmaster account can log on to the mailbox management platform to manage the mailbox accounts of enterprise and customize the mailbox information of the enterprise. After purchasing the Alibaba Mail, Alibaba Cloud will provide you with an administrator account. You can use postmaster account to log on to the email management platform (also known as domain management) to create department and employee accounts, customize enterprise email styles, and set up hierarchical administrators.
