Description
Use the third-party client to log on to the Alibaba Mail, and the server information has been correctly configured. But failed to send or receive emails, and receive the following return prompt:
Foxmail Client
No such host is known.
The remote host forcibly closed an existing connection. And the following error message will be displayed after testing the email account
The requested name is valid and found in the database, but it does not have relevant correct data to be resolved.Outlook Client
The server name you entered was not found on the network (there may be a temporary network outage). Verify that you are working online and that the server name is correct.
Outlook cannot connect to the incoming (P0P3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, please contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). Cause
The local domain name is used to configure the email client, but the corresponding DNS resolution is not configured, and the configuration cannot take effect.
Use the Alibaba Mail domain name to configure the email client, and the DNS address of the local server used by the client cannot correctly resolve the domain name of the server, resulting in the failure to log on to the mailbox server.
Solution
Please select the following corresponding steps according to the actual situation. After the modification is completed, confirm that the Alibaba Mail account can use the client to send and receive emails normally.
Configure DNS Resolution
If you use the domain name of your email to configure the email client, you need to configure the corresponding DNS resolution. Otherwise, we recommend that you use the Alibaba Mail official service address: smtp.sg.aliyun.com. Otherwise, the configuration cannot take effect.
