Description
Receive emails repeatedly when using email client.
Cause
If the sender uses a third-party email client to send abnormal messages and does not issue the quit command normally, the server thinks that the session is not over, that is, the email is not received normally, which will lead to the problem of repeated email receiving.
The network quality is poor or the network signal burst is abnormal.
The email client of the sender (or recipient) repeatedly sends (or receives) emails. If the sender uses some mail monitoring software (or antivirus software), they will detect your locally configured email account and then use the mail receiving and sending address corresponding to the email for their own use, which is equivalent to sending and receiving twice each time you receive or send a letter.
The Webmail uses the mailbox proxy function. Unlike the above problems, this kind of repeated receipt of emails will occur every time a new login is made to the Webmail of the mailbox, and the email received when the last login to the Webmail end is re-received. This problem is because after you set up the email proxy of POP3 protocol, your external email will be automatically collected every time you log on to the Webmail.
Solution
Contact the sender to re-run the third-party email client.
Run the following tracert command to check the network quality and receive emails when the network connection is normal.
tracert [$Domain]Note[$Domain] is the domain name of you Alibaba Mail.
Rerun the email monitoring software or temporarily disable the email monitoring software.
If you set the function of receiving email and delete the original email on the server, it is recommended to cancel the setting to solve the problem.

POP3 protocol receiving principle: There are three states in the POP3 protocol, the approval state, the processing state, and the update state. When the client establishes contact with the server, once the client provides its own identity and successfully confirms, it is transferred from the approved state to the processing state, and after completing the corresponding operation, the client issues the quit command, then enters the update state, and finally returns to the approved state after the update.
