By default, ActionTrail records only the historical events generated within the last 90 days for each Alibaba Cloud account. To query events beyond this 90-day range, you must create a trail.
Overview
ActionTrail monitors and records events in your Alibaba Cloud account. You can create a trail to deliver subsequent events to Simple Log Service or Object Storage Service (OSS), and then create a data backfill task to deliver historical events from the last 90 days to Simple Log Service for long-term storage. Without a trail, you cannot query events older than 90 days.

ActionTrail allows you to query only the historical events from the last 90 days. To query events beyond this range, create a trail and deliver the events to Simple Log Service or OSS. Multi-Level Protection Scheme (MLPS) 2.0 requires events to be stored for at least 180 days. Events delivered to Simple Log Service or OSS are permanently stored by default.
