This topic describes the limits and billing rules of Distributed Cloud Container Platform for Kubernetes (ACK One).
Limits
The multi-cluster management feature provided by ACK One has the following limits:
You can create master instances only in virtual private clouds (VPCs).
If you want to manage external Kubernetes clusters, such as clusters deployed in data centers and in a hybrid cloud environment, you must register the clusters to Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) before you enable the multi-cluster management feature.
You can enable the multi-cluster management feature only in the VPCs and vSwitches that reside in the zones of the following regions.

Billing rules
Presently, the multi-cluster management and backup center features are free of charge. In addition, you are not charged cluster management fees for registered clusters.
If you use the multi-cluster management feature to associate clusters with master instances or configure cloud resources, such as Object Storage Service (OSS) buckets, in the backup center, you are charged for the associated clusters or the cloud resources that you configured. For more information about the billing rules of cloud resources, see the billing topics of the relevant Alibaba Cloud services. Examples:
If you associate clusters with master instances, you are charged for the associated clusters. For more information, see ACK billing and Billing.
If you configure OSS buckets in the backup center, you are charged for the OSS buckets. For more information, see OSS billing.
If you use Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances, you are charged for the ECS instances. For more information, see ECS billing.
Cloud resource billing for registered clusters
If your registered clusters use other Alibaba Cloud services, you are charged based on the billing rules of the cloud services. If your registered clusters do not use other Alibaba Cloud services, no additional fees are charged.
Cloud service | Activation | Description | Subscription | Resource plan | Billing rule |
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) | Required | This service can be used to build networks and create routing rules for ACK clusters. For more information, see What is a VPC?. | Not supported | Not supported
Classic Load Balancer (CLB) | Required | This service is used to create CLB instances for the Kubernetes API servers of registered clusters. For more information, see What is CLB?. | Not supported | Not supported | Note CLB instances that are used by registered clusters use the pay-as-you-go billing method and the pay-by-specification metering method. |
Container Registry | Recommended | This service ensures the security of cloud-native applications that are fully managed on the cloud and allows you to manage the lifecycle of these applications. For more information, see What is Container Registry?. | Not supported | Not supported
Log Service | Recommended | This service is used to collect and query the log data of cluster components and applications. For more information, see What is Log Service?. | Not supported | Supported. For more information about how to select resource plans based on your business requirements, see Purchase a resource plan.
Prometheus Service | Recommended | This service is used to monitor ACK clusters and generate alerts when exceptions are detected. For more information, see What is Prometheus Service?. | Not supported | Not supported
Elastic Compute Service (ECS) | Optional | This service is used to add new nodes to a node pool. For more information, see What is ECS?. | Supported | Not supported
Auto Scaling | Optional | This service is used to add new nodes to a node pool. For more information, see What is Auto Scaling?. | Not supported | Not supported
Elastic Container Instance | Optional | This service is used to create elastic container instances. For more information, see What is Elastic Container Instance?. | Not supported | Not supported |
Cloud resource billing for multi-cluster management
If other cloud services are used when you use the multi-cluster management feature to manage associated clusters, you are charged based on the billing rules of the cloud services. If you do not use other cloud services, no additional fees are charged. If you use GitOps to manage associated clusters, you must purchase a CLB instance and an elastic container instance that has 2 vCores and 4 GB of memory.
Cloud service | Activation | Description | Subscription | Resource plan | Billing rule |
CLB | Optional | If you use GitOps to manage associated clusters, ACK One automatically creates a CLB instance that is used to access the GitOps API and the GitOps user interface. For more information, see What is CLB?. | Not supported | Not supported | Note The CLB instance that is created for GitOps is billed based on the billing rules of CLB. |
Elastic Container Instance | Optional | If you use GitOps to manage associated clusters, ACK One automatically creates a CLB instance and an elastic container instance that has 2 vCores and 4 GB of memory. The elastic container instance is used to run GitOps. For more information, see What is Elastic Container Instance?. | Not supported | Not supported |
