Account Center:Manage addresses and contacts

This topic describes how to manage contacts for account notifications in the Alibaba Cloud Account Center. You can also configure the message types that each contact receives.

Fine-grained management of notification contacts ensures that the right information, such as billing reminders, product expiration notices, and security alerts, is sent promptly by email to the appropriate personnel for different scenarios, such as finance, operations and maintenance (O&M), and security. You can add multiple contacts and customize the notification types for each one to meet your requirements.

Note
  • The secure phone number from account registration and your security email address are used primarily for logon and identity verification. The contacts described in this topic cannot be used for identity verification.

  • Before you add any contacts, notifications from the Message Center are sent by default to your security email address. For more information about how to view and modify your security email address, see Modify basic account information.

  • To ensure that these contacts receive specific notifications, you must also configure the settings in the Basic Message Reception Management section of the Message Center.

Account Message

Notifications about account funds

Notifications about low account balance, insufficient credit limit, refunds, incoming wire transfers, and coupons.

Recommended for finance staff.

Product Messages

Product education content, notifications about product creation or activation, and product expiration

Notifications before resource expiration, such as for instances or certificates, and notifications about renewal success or failure.

Recommended for O&M or business owners.

Security Messages

Alibaba Cloud Security notifications, illegal or prohibited content alerts, and account security alerts

Real-time notifications about high-risk vulnerabilities, DDoS attacks, and abnormal logons.

Recommended for security engineers or SREs.

Exception Messages

ECS failure notifications, ApsaraDB failures or O&M notifications, and proactive Cloud Monitor alerts

Synchronizes fault information for cloud products.

Recommended for O&M or business owners.

Activity Messages

Promotions, new product launches, or commercialization announcements

Alibaba Cloud product upgrades, promotions, and feature updates.

Recommended for O&M or business owners.

Service Messages

Contract notifications, billing notifications, and invoice notifications

Contract and financial issues, and some service information.

Recommended for finance staff or O&M staff.

Add a contact

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Account Center and select Account Contacts.

  2. On the page, click Add contacts, enter the required information, and then click OK.

    Spaces are not supported. A maximum of 20 Chinese characters are supported. We recommend that you fill in Chinese characters and English letters.

  3. After you click OK, Alibaba Cloud sends a verification email to the specified email address. You must complete the verification to receive email notifications.

  4. You can view the contact list.

Manage existing contacts

In the contact list, you can perform the following actions on your saved contacts:

  • Modify a contact: In the Operation column for the desired contact, click Modify. In the dialog box that appears, update the information and click OK. Note that email addresses must be verified to receive messages.

  • Delete a contact: In the Operation column for the desired contact, click Delete. This action cannot be undone. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to confirm.
