Bastionhost:Billing methods

Last Updated:Mar 31, 2026

Bastionhost uses a subscription billing model. Pricing varies by edition, plan (number of managed assets), and region. Review this page before purchasing an instance to understand billing cycles, available specifications, and the expiration and refund policies.

Billing cycle

Each billing cycle corresponds to the purchase period of your order, measured in UTC+8. The cycle starts the moment the instance is activated or renewed (accurate to the second) and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration date.

Years and months in billing cycles refer to calendar years and calendar months.

Purchasable specifications

Each Bastionhost instance is defined by three specification dimensions:

SpecificationDescription

Plan

The number of assets the instance can manage. Choose a plan based on your current asset count and expected growth.
Bandwidth extension packageEach instance includes a default bandwidth allocation. If the default is not enough, add a bandwidth extension package at purchase time. Pricing is listed in Billing details.
Storage extension packageEach instance includes default storage for session recordings and log backup files. Add a storage extension package if more storage is needed. Pricing is listed in Billing details.
If your environment involves multiple concurrent sessions that upload or download large files, or sessions that use remote desktop with complex graphical operations, add a bandwidth extension package.

Choose an edition

Bastionhost offers two editions. Use the following guidance to select the right one.

Basic Edition — Choose this edition when:

  • Your environment consists primarily of SSH-based server access.

  • You need up to 500 managed assets.

  • You do not require high-concurrency remote desktop (RDP) sessions.

Enterprise Dual-engine Edition — Choose this edition when:

  • Your environment includes a significant proportion of RDP sessions, since this edition supports a higher RDP concurrency ratio.

  • You need to manage 50 to 5,000 assets.

  • You require higher bandwidth and storage defaults for large-scale Operations and Maintenance (O&M).

Billing details

Bastionhost is sold by region. Deploy the instance in the same region as your managed assets. For cross-region management, make sure network connectivity exists between Bastionhost and the managed assets.

Concurrency limits

Important
  • RDP O&M consumes more underlying resources than SSH. As a result, the maximum number of concurrent RDP sessions is lower than that of SSH sessions for the same plan.

  • In database O&M scenarios, a single session may open multiple concurrent connections. The actual number of concurrent database sessions may therefore be lower than the plan's total concurrent session quota. If the total connection count is too high, Bastionhost's overload protection mechanism activates and rejects new session connections. For details, see Limits.

Expiration policy

  • If the instance is not renewed within 7 days after expiration, the service stops and you cannot log on to the Bastionhost management interface.7

  • If the instance is still not renewed after the 7-day retention period, the instance is released and all configuration and audit data is permanently deleted.7-day

Unsubscription policy

Bastionhost does not support unconditional refunds.
