Apsara File Storage NAS:Refund policy

This topic describes the refund policy of Apsara File Storage NAS resources.This topic also describes how to unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS file system.

Overview

The following table describes the refund policy for each billing method.

You can unsubscribe from a NAS resource plan if all the following conditions are met:

  • The resource plan has not been used to offset resource usage fees.

  • The resource plan was purchased in the last five days.

  • The resource plan was not purchased by upgrade or renewal.

Pay-as-you-go

Pay-as-you-go NAS resources are billed only after they are used. Therefore, refunds are not involved.

If you no longer use pay-as-you-go NAS resources, you can release the NAS resources. Before you release the resources, you must back up or migrate data from the NAS file system and make sure that the release operation does not affect your business. After NAS resources are released, you are no longer charged for the NAS resources. The following list describes how to release resources:

Subscription

Subscription Extreme NAS file systems support self-service unsubscription. If you unsubscribe from NAS resources, the NAS file system is released and the corresponding refund is returned to your account based on unsubscription rules.

You can unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS file system by using the following two methods: request a partial refund and cancel an ineffective renewal order. Before you unsubscribe from your NAS resources, we recommend that you read the unsubscription rules, precautions, and unsubscription cases. For more information, see Rules for unsubscribing from resources.

Refundable amount = Paid amount - Fees for consumed resources

Fees for consumed resources = Price of subscription resources per day × Usage duration × Discount available for the usage duration

Note

If you have enjoyed the discounts when you purchase a subscription Extreme NAS file system, the discount amount is nonrefundable.

You can request a refund in the Billing Management console. Before you submit an application, make sure that you understand the unsubscription rules. For more information, see Unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS file system.

Storage plan

A General-purpose NAS storage plan is a type of subscription billing method. You can use a storage plan to offset only the storage usage fees of a file system to which the storage plan is attached.

You cannot manually detach the storage plan from the file system. However, if you delete the General-purpose NAS file system, the storage plan is automatically detached.

If you no longer use a General-purpose NAS storage plan, you can release the General-purpose NAS file system. Before you release the General-purpose NAS file system, you must back up or migrate data from the file system and make sure that the release operation does not affect your business. After NAS resources are released, you are no longer charged for the NAS resources. For more information about how to release a file system, see Delete a file system.

Note

An expired storage plan is automatically released. In this case, you do not need to release the General-purpose NAS file system. After the storage plan expires, you are charged for the General-purpose NAS file system based on the pay-as-you-go billing method. If you want to continue to enjoy discounts, we recommend that you purchase resource plans. Compared with a storage plan, a resource plan does not need to be attached to a file system. You can purchase multiple resource plans to offset the storage usage fees of multiple General-purpose NAS file systems.

If you want to change the billing method before the storage plan expires, contact NAS technical support.

Warning

If you unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS file system, delete a pay-as-you-go file system, or delete a file system to which a storage plan is attached, the file system is released. After the NAS file system is released, if requests are still initiated to access the NAS file system, the NAS file system cannot be properly accessed. Therefore, before you unsubscribe from a subscription NAS file system or delete a pay-as-you-go NAS file system, you must back up or migrate the data of the file system.

Unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS file system

You can unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS file system in the Billing Management console. Before you unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS file system, make sure that the file system does not contain important business data or the data has been backed up or migrated.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Billing Management console.

  2. Perform the following operations based on the subscription status of the file system:

    • Request a partial refund

      1. On the Unsubscribe page, click the Unsubscribe from resources that are being used. tab.

      2. Click Common Cloud Services and select Partial Refund for Type.

      3. Find the subscription Extreme NAS file system from which you want to unsubscribe and click Unsubscribe Resource in the Actions column.

        If you have a large number of orders, you can set Name to Extreme NAS and set Instance ID or Created At to filter the orders from which you want to unsubscribe.

      4. On the Unsubscribe Resource page, confirm the resource information, set Reason, and then select I have read the Unsubscribing Rules and confirmed the unsubscribe amount. and I have confirmed that the data of the unsubscribe instance is backed up and migrated.

      5. Click Unsubscribe. In the Remind message, click OK.

    • Cancel an ineffective renewal order

      1. On the Unsubscribe page, click the Unsubscribe Renewal Period tab.

      2. Find the subscription Extreme NAS file system from which you want to unsubscribe, and click Cancel Renewal in the Actions column.

        If you have a large number of orders, you can set Name to Extreme NAS and set Instance ID to filter the orders from which you want to unsubscribe.

      3. On the Cancel Renewal page, confirm the resource information, set the Updated Expiration Time parameter, and then select I have read the Unsubscribing Rules and confirmed the unsubscribe amount.

      4. Click Unsubscribe. In the Remind message, click OK.

  3. After the unsubscription application is submitted, click Orders to view the unsubscription details.
