Manage VPN Gateway quotas - VPN Gateway - Alibaba Cloud Documentation Center

Alibaba Cloud allows you to view and manage quotas of your Alibaba Cloud services. You can manage quotas, such as querying the usage information about quotas and applying for quota increases. This topic describes how to manage VPN Gateway quotas, including increasing a quota and creating a quota template.

Background information

Quota Center allows you to manage the quotas of various Alibaba Cloud services in a centralized manner. Quota Center is integrated with multiple Alibaba Cloud services, including VPN Gateway. If you are using multiple Alibaba Cloud services and want to manage the quotas of all your cloud services in one console, you can use Quota Center.

In addition to Quota Center, VPN Gateway also provides a Quota Management page in the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) console. If you want to manage only VPN Gateway quotas, you can go to the Quota Management page in the VPC console console.

Prerequisites

By default, only the Alibaba Cloud account is authorized to manage quotas in Quota Center. If you want to allow RAM users to manage quotas, you must first grant the RAM user the AliyunQuotasFullAccess permission. For more information, see Authorize a RAM user.

View quotas

You can use one of the following methods to view the quotas of VPN Gateway:

View the quota items and their default values in VPN Gateway documentation. For more information, see Quotas.
View the quotas in the Quota Center console. For more information, see Query the details of quotas supported by a cloud service.
View the quotas in the VPC console.

View quotas in the VPC console

Log on to the VPC console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose O&M and Monitoring > Quota Management.
On the Quota Management page, select VPN Gateway for the Service parameter and view quotas based on the quota type.
- View general quotas
  1. Select General Quota for the Quota Type parameter.
  2. You can enter a keyword in the Keyword search box to search for quotas. Then, you can view the name, description, and usage of the quotas that meet the specified filter condition.
- View API rate limits
  1. Select API Rate Limit for the Quota Type parameter.
  2. You can enter a keyword in the Keyword search box and select a region from the Region drop-down list to search for quotas. Then, you can view the version and rate limit of the API operations that meet the specified filter condition.

Increase quotas

If the default value of a quota item cannot meet your business requirements, you can apply for a quota increase by using one of the following methods.

Use the Quota Center console. For more information, see Request a quota increase.
Use the VPC console.

If the application is approved, the increased quota limit is displayed in the Quota Center console and VPC console.

Increase a quota in the VPC console

VPN Gateway allows you to increase only general quotas. The following section describes how to increase a general quota.

Log on to the VPC console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose O&M and Monitoring > Quota Management.
On the Quota Management page, select VPN Gateway for the Service parameter.
Select General Quota for the Quota Type parameter.
Find the general quota that you want to manage and perform the following operations.
- If the Apply option is available in the Actions column, click Apply in the Actions column, and perform Step 6 and Step 7.
- If the Apply option is unavailable in the Actions column, perform the operations in the Actions column baaed on the on-screen instructions.
In the Apply for Quotas dialog box, configure the Applied Quotas and Reason parameters and click OK.
Note
- Applications are reviewed and approved by the technical support team for each cloud service. To increase the success rate of your application, specify a reasonable quota value and a detailed reason.
- Application results are sent to you by text message and email.
Alibaba Cloud evaluates your application based on the information that you provide and decides whether your application is approved or denied.
To view the status of the application, click Application Records in the Actions column.
If the application of a quota enters the Approved state in the Status column, the quota is increased.

Create a quota template

If a quota template is enabled and the administrator account adds a member to the resource directory, the quota template automatically submits a quota increase request for the member. The quota values for existing members remain unchanged. You can use a quota template to apply for increases on multiple quotas at the same time. This automated approach improves the efficiency of quota management across your organization.

Before you create a quota template, make sure that the following requirements are met:

An enterprise administrator account is used to log on to the console.
A resource directory is enabled. For more information, see Enable a resource directory.
The quota template feature is enabled. For more information, see Enable the quota template feature.

Add a quota to a quota template in the VPC console

Log on to the VPC console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose O&M and Monitoring > Quota Management.
On the Quota Management page, select VPN Gateway for the Service parameter.
Select General Quota for the Quota Type parameter.
Find the quota that you want to manage and click Create Quota Template in the Actions column.
In the Create Quota Template dialog box, configure the Applied Quotas parameter and click OK.
