Alibaba Cloud and SCCC Establish Saudi Training Center to Empower Youth in Cloud Computing

During LEAP 2024, SCCC announced its goal is to empower over 3,000 youths to succeed in the field of cloud computing through Alibaba Cloud technology and courses.

On March 6th, during LEAP 2024, Talal Albakr, CEO of Saudi Cloud Computing Company (SCCC), announced that over the next three years, its goal is to empower over 3,000 youths to succeed in the field of cloud computing through Alibaba Cloud technology and courses. As part of this initiative, SCCC, together with Tuwaiq Academy will officially establish the Alibaba Cloud Academy Training Center in Saudi Arabia. It aims to provide training, empowerment, and certification courses in collaboration with Alibaba Cloud Academy, focusing on nurturing local digital talents in Saudi Arabia, promoting digital innovation development, identifying the challenges faced by local talents in crossing the digital threshold, and designing customized courses, training camps, professional and AI certifications for the local market.

Tuwaiq Academy is the first educational institution in Saudi Arabia in advanced technology, offering various courses covering different technological fields and age groups, considered one of the largest academies in the Middle East and Africa. Since its establishment two years ago, the total number of students enrolled in courses has reached one million. In 2023, the Tuwaiq Academy hosted more than 70 "Tuwaiq Talk" and 4 "Alibaba Cloud Talk." The collaboration between SCCC and Tuwaiq Academy aims not only to develop professional skills among young people and graduates but also focuses on developing empowerment programs tailored to local characteristics. By providing training, courses, and AI enablement that meet the local markets' demands, this collaboration will better prepare the younger generation for the local employment environment. Through providing tailored training to local talents, we hope to inspire innovation, promote sustainable development in the local community, and create more opportunities and value for the entire society in terms of technology and economy.

In 2022, Saudi Cloud Computing Company (SCCC), the joint venture company formed by Saudi Telecom Company (stc) Group, eWTP Arabia Capital, the Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE) and Alibaba Cloud announced that it has opened two data centres in Saudi Arabia. The new data centres will be managed and operated by SCCC, pioneering in providing public cloud services to the Saudi market, covering products from elastic computing, storage, networking to databases. This collaboration marks a critical partnership in advancing Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure and cloud capabilities. Alibaba Cloud, combining its expertise and innovative solutions with SCCC's local experience and market influence, will provide customized cutting-edge cloud services to Saudi enterprises to meet their specific needs. In recent years, Alibaba Cloud has achieved multiple partnerships in Saudi Arabia and will continue to deepen its presence in Saudi Arabia, accelerating economic growth and driving Saudi digital transformation by empowering businesses to leverage cloud computing for efficiency, scalability, and global competitiveness.

Alibaba Cloud Academy is the training and certification arm of Alibaba Cloud. Since April 2023, they have trained over 60,000 talents across the globe, offering over 300 offline and online courses, 16 professional certifications, and over 250 hands-on labs.
