Web Application Firewall:Unsubscribe from WAF

Última atualização: Jun 25, 2026

When you no longer need WAF, you can stop billing by closing or unsubscribing from your instance. This topic describes how to close a pay-as-you-go instance, unsubscribe from a subscription instance, and unsubscribe from a SeCU resource plan.

Warning

Unsubscribing from a subscription instance or closing a pay-as-you-go instance releases the instance. If your domain uses a CNAME record to connect to WAF, WAF can no longer forward requests after the instance is released, making your website inaccessible. Before you unsubscribe or close an instance, ensure that you switch all web traffic from WAF back to the origin server.

Close a pay-as-you-go WAF instance

Pay-as-you-go instances are billed in real time based on actual usage, so refunds are not applicable. If you no longer need a pay-as-you-go instance, follow these steps to close it.

  1. Log on to the Web Application Firewall 3.0 console. From the top menu bar, select the resource group and region (Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland) for the WAF instance.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Overview.

  3. If you already have services protected by WAF, skip this step. Otherwise, the page displays Welcome to Web Application Firewall (WAF). Click Go to Console to go to the Overview page.

  4. In the Edition Information area, click Terminate WAF Service.

  5. In the confirmation dialog, review the risks of releasing the instance and click OK. After the instance is closed, the final bill for today is generated the next day (T+1), and no further charges are incurred.

Unsubscribe from a subscription WAF instance

Contact your account manager or solution architect to apply for unsubscription of purchased instances. Both of the following conditions must be met:

  • The instance was purchased within the last 5 days.

  • The instance has not been used.

Unsubscribe from a SeCU resource plan

Resource plans do not support self-service unsubscription. If you purchased a plan within the last five days and have not used it, you can submit a ticket to request a refund.

If you have any questions, contact your account manager or solution architect.

Important

After a SeCU resource plan expires, you cannot request a refund for any unused capacity.
