This topic describes how to handle issues where no vSwitch is available when you create a gateway.

When you create a gateway, you need to specify a VPC network and a vSwitch to provide gateway services. In some cases, no vSwitch is available under the selected VPC network. Zones in some regions may not have sufficient resources to create gateways. For example, top-ranking zones (Zone A, B, C, and D) in the China (Beijing), China (Shanghai), and China (Hangzhou) regions may not have sufficient resources.

In this case, you can select a low-ranking zone, for example, Zone G or H, to create a vSwitch. After the vSwitch is created, use it to create a gateway on the gateway creation page. You do not need to create the gateway in the zone where the ECS instance is deployed. However, you must deploy the gateway and ECS instance in the same VPC network to ensure that data communication can be established.
